Prada S/S 2009 Milan

The heels for this collection are to die for. I love them, despite the fact that apparently even models will fall while wearing them.

I don't think the heels are the problem; it's the white socks the models are wearing causing them to fall/wobble

^ Ah, thanks for the video! Wow, so many mishaps! I like!

Yes, I know that. There were black booties, too. But I think they are meant to be a part of the heels and so it'd be silly to wear the heels without them. I like the heels with the socks/booties, regardless of the problem they cause. They probably should have made the socks/booties with rubber grips at the bottom.

Finally, I like the classic feeling with direct sexyness...

saw the video, poor girls, they looked more miserable than usual...just trying not to fall. glad to hear that miuccia will lower heels for the stores!

i haven't loved a Prada collection this much since F/W 06. the play on texture is amazing.

Those little socks...hideous...About the collectoin..I'm still not sure but I end up loving it after seenig it for the second time.

some of the shoes i think would work without the socks...it's kind of like her three in one bootie this season. i'm sure those shoes wouldn't be pantyhose friendly either!

I feel really disappointed with this collection, it looks so overwhelming and unreconstructed, there are some cute pieces like the skirts but it's awkward in general, very unwearable for my taste.

Prada's show always takes the most time for me to digest, so does this time.
The shoes look really painful, but kind of sexy... Maybe that's a very selfish point of view from male but I can imagine the difficulties of wearing those shoes, just look at the models! Sometimes fashion is kind of a dangerous game to play.
Somehow I love those gold dress in the final, I think they are just beautiful.

The shoes are way too high for anyone's own good. But I love the idea: the mini sock sort of tucked into a strappy heel.

apart from a few dresses... well the full ones w/ ugly snake print/skin.. i like the collection!

You just KNOW that snakeskin dress will be on the cover of at least 3 Vogues!! :innocent:

This has a lot of editorial flair - but wearability? Not so much.

Because of the fall and the trips the shoes caused all of my attention when it that.. sadly
I have a mental image of Miuccia yelling and getting really angry at the girls who took their shoes off. Like my grade 5 teacher

I agree with who ever it was that said the collection has editorial flair. It does, I can so see it in editorials named "into the wild"/"in the jungle" or something like that.

But exoticism has been on display for so many seasons now. And really, midriffs popped up all over NYC. As did rumpled fabrics (Yigal Azrouel did it especially well!) So Miuccia isn't exactly breaking new ground here, and her whole legacy is cemented around the belief that she is supremely directional and seasons ahead of her peers. Instead, she recycles ideas (in the hem lengths and shoes and peek-a-boo "erotic" displays) of her own and otherwise merely underscores other trends we've noted thus far in Spring 2009. And the palette, in my opinion, is appalling. My jaw literally dropped when I saw those eye-wateringly gold, tattered foil-like dresses. I swear to you, if any American designer had the gaul to create those, every editor and critic would be merciless in their criticism.
Sadly, I'm sure Prada will reap the majority of credit if rumpled, paper mache textile themes, garish gold, and bare midriffs DO emerge as editorial or retail trends. She deserves the benefit of the doubt, but a lazy collection is a lazy collection.
