Proenza Schouler for Target

check back at your local stores on tuesday. thats when wwd said that stores would be stocking the line. there was no reference to PS in todays new target circular.

i went to my local boston store and when i walked in there were 8 different girls crowding around the PS area and grabbing things.

they had only one purple bustier dress left.

i tried on the coat in the bubble print (same one caffeine has on a few pages back). i was impressed by it. i was expecting it to be a stiff material. but it was super flexible. the medium was way too big. im thinking about ordering a size S online. i'm unsure of what i would wear WITH the coat as well.

caffeine
, what are you planning on wearing with yours?

i also tried on the grey jeans and the denim jeans. the fit was OK. the material was so-so.

i was REALLY impressed by the purple button front skirt and the denim button front skirt. the fit was great. and i loved the length. i could imagine i could get away with wearing the skirt on casual fridays this spring and summer at work.

why oh why was target stocking PS seersucker items in february? sheesh!!!

I got back from 4 targets...

-the navy and black colorblock dress is fab fab

-the grey stripe swing coat is fab fab

-the jersey tie dress is the most fab

i need to rant here too. i just came back from 4 targets and only 1 store had any PS in stock. and the one that had stock didn't have my size in the ones that i liked. i didn't call anymore like i did last thursday as i was confident they would have 'em by now. today is the 4th right? so why aren't they in the stores yet? i feel like i went on a wild goose chase here. anyhow, i'm glad with what i already have. i just wanted to make sure i got the right size as the black dress that i got felt a bit loose on me even if it was a size S (and i'm normally a S/M).

do you guys know if you buy from target.com the pieces can you return to target stores?

yes, you can return them in the stores. you'll have to go online to print a return slip first.

so i finally had a chance to try on everything i got. all the size Smalls fit except for the bustier top, i had to go up to a medium to fit it. but im content, i went back to opening ceremony yesterday to get my bustier top in medium. luckily they had ONE left, it all XL and L but other than that they had almost all the stuff still in stock, if anyone wants to go, go quick they're not receiving anymore shipments b/c its ending on monday night! good luck, i haven't wore anything yet ahah.

please post pics as you guys wear it, im curious to see!

what about us boys?

did any of you buy some proenza stuff?^_^

i tried on the denim but the fit was way weird, and would only look good if you wore heels....so i left those for the girls

i was surprised (...and really happy) that none of the button downs had those darts on the chest B) so guys could easily pull them off...but i just didnt like any of the prints.

i ended up purchasing

-the thin navy windbreaker jacket (so cool!)

-2 of the tissue thin ls striped shirts (navy/white navy/black) they'd look great under a leather jacket and jeans

-the charcoal/navy palm print cardigan. which is also very cool...

-the white button down w/ black trim/piping detail ( i went with the XL for a more loose fit..)

- and i got the white short sleeve tissue t-shirt (again, in XL) again, great with a leather jacket

i was kind of dissapointed my store didnt have any of the accesories out...what did any of you think of the black bag?...and does anyone have any photos of these scarfs everyones getting?

my last item i'm hoping to get is the grey 3/4 sweatshirt with the big logo. its so funny, i love itB)

Has anyone seen the palm print gauze dress (pink) in stores?

I did. it looks nice but I'm not a huge fan of the cotton gauze. It felt really flimsy...I"m not sure how long it holds for. Also you need to press to make it look nice.
but it looks so nice in the lookbook. I"m still contemplating.

The proportion I like is skinny legs+a swing coat.
So either with a skinny jeans+heels+a polo+big sunglasses (Jackie O style), or with short shorts+a shirt.
What do you think?

I guess I'll just have to wait until tuesday then....

I am posting pics in the secret shopaholics thread...so go take a look.

actually go see now

i saw your pics, guccigal. the dress looked great on you.
i thought that the pic on the model on target.com made it look matronly. but your pic proved that wrong!

caffeine, i was also thinking about wearing the swing coat with skinny jeans/heels. i think it would be fairly decent as a rain coat. i'm second guessing myself!

retrogurl, did you have to wait 30 minutes to get into opening ceremony again?

Argg I went today and they didn't have ANY bustier tops or dresses! Someone told me they had everything out for 2 days already, though, so I don't know if they were all gone or just never stocked. I'm going to call back every day hehe. I got the black cotton version of the v-neck silk trapunto top. I really like it! I tried the navy/black color block dress, but the bust looked funny on me. I'm a little chesty (not too chesty though) and it fit too high.

Have ANY stores stocked the accessories (besides Open Ceremony, of course)... My Target just had the clothes, and I haven't heard anyone else on here comment on the bags/scarves etc.

You look great, guccigal! :) Thanks for sharing.

Well, I'm still going to check Targets tomorrow for the red shorts and bustier top I want because I need more diapers anyway. :D

here's a pic of the palm print dress from flickr...
In Atlanta, they haven't put the line out here yet - one target I called said tomorrow, but it took getting 3 people on the line before they knew what I was talking about.
I went to the one accross from Phipps on the 1st and it had a ton of the line.

The dress you posted was not out when I went, but I have learned that they get shippments to that Tragert on Thrusdays, so if they are out check back Friday. They seem to restock all all their shippments then in time for the weekend. I know...I spend too much time at Traget, but it is right by my office and a lot cheeper then spending my lunch hour at Phipps. Intermix and Barney's are too tempting. :)

You meant the navy color silke dress with empire line?
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=sc_pgb_r_2_1_16275561/601-5877850-6656937?ie=UTF8&asin=B000LO9AGU&frombrowse=1

It didn't suit me because I'm more 'flat' and so I looked heavily "pregnant" in that dress. It's a little plain IMHO. And when a dress is plain it requires a lot more on the construction but unfortunately $45 can't afford much...
The material is very nice though.:flower:
I actually think that the palm print Vneck dress will look amazing on somebody with more curves. And it's more interesting.

i mean the same style as the navy but in the bubble prrint of your coat..
i saw you holding it...
didn't you buy it...?
and the scarf too?>

what palm print v nk dress?...
you mean the green one? in gauze?
with the knot at the bust?

I went to my target today and they still had a generic sign up saying "who's next? the next designer arrives feb. 1)" and the standard mossimo stuff was in its place. I asked and nobody knew what "go international" thing I was talking about, nor when the next clothes shipment was coming in :(
