Just watched the final -so glad Kirsty won!
Like seemingly everyone, Christopher was my favourite, even though his streety aesthetic is very different to mine. He's obviously so talented and his designs were always very interesting and surprising. I was so upset when he left -and very, very p'ed off by that challenge. His dress was the worst, but seriously, how many designers actually design suitable 'dresses for Elizabeth Hurley'? She wears Versace, Dolce, and sometimes Gucci -who else? They had Giles Deacon as a guest judge -has he ever designed anything that Liz would wear? The scope for actual creativity was miniscule: floor length, plunging neckline, bright/girly colour, shimmery, floaty fabric, etc, were all givens, so in the end it was just about realising this in the most simple way possible (hence Matthew's win). Still, I'm sure Chris will be successful anyway, even without PC.
Kirsty was my second favourite the whole way through... I like her taste a lot, her pieces were always feminine but in an interesting way, and I think she's the most likeable of the bunch -not arrogant or nasty, but focused and confident (Matthew was sweet but irritatingly whingey). I really liked the colour palette of her final collection, and quite a few of the pieces.
Really didn't like Debi's collection -but then, I think she has taste issues. I never like what she wears, it's always very bitty and Pat-Field-in-a-70's-jumble-sale to me, and her collection was the same for me. I wouldn't say it was verging towards couture -it actually just looked cheap to me. (Still better than Julien McDonald though...)
Oh, and I don't know when it happened, but I've gone from hating Ben de Lisi at the beginning of the show to liking him now. It may just be that anyone seems relatively awesome if they're next to Julien McD...
