Project Catwalk UK

^I have been in touch with the man himself...... if he won't promote himself, I will undertake it gladly!

Finally got around to watching the finale, and Kirsty is the only one who really impressed me. I was afraid that it would turn out too costume-y after her trip to Morocco, but I loved how she subtly incorporated the influence into her collection. The pattern design was interesting without trying too hard and without sacrificing beauty or wearability, and I loved her fabrics.

I think Debi's could have been great, but I actually agree with Julien *gasp* that it looked like she tried too hard. The big collar dress in particular that she was so proud of would have kicked *** without all that nonsense on top. However I did like the black coat with the high collar. Gemma's dress was hideous. Rarely have I seen a dress that looks good with that stilted gathered skirt on the bottom. I wish designers would stop doing it.

I didn't really like Matt's color palette-- it was almost too obvious. The fur coats by themselves looked like pimp jackets, but on the whole, the outfits worked well together on the runway. I also loved his printed fabric. However, this being London FW, I found it boring and uninspired.
Horrendous as some pieces were, I think I'd have to give #2 to Deb just b/c she took risks and was more hands on than the others.

Glad to see this show over b/c I don't think I could have put up with Liz in her tacky, "tart-y" dresses and the rest of the gang with their no talent snobby ***es for any more episodes.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not Christopher. He's far too modest to engage in such shameless self-promotion. However, I'm of the opinion that he should have as much publicity as possible, mainly because I like the idea of having a best mate who is a rich and famous.

bestmate? well I was close then!

uhm wasn't part of the winners prize a feature in Elle magazine?? i think it was the may issue, which means it should be out right?? does anyone have it.. and if they do could they scan it, i had a peek in a shop but couldn't find the article..

This is in todays heat magazine-

If you were gripped by the scissors-and-fabric drama of Sky One's excellent Project Catwalk, listen up: the makers are looking for up-and-coming designers to take part in the next series of the show. So if you can wield a needle and thread better than Julien McDonald can carry off a fake tan, e-mail [email protected] or call 0871 210 8878.

I'm so happy there will be a new series.:woot:

... anyone?? i'd really love to see it!

^I have the article (all two pages of it:( ), I can't do it right now. But I can tomorrow.

Hey, I'm in Canada but I've been watching it here! It's sooo hilarious!!!! I'm at the episode where they did a 'haute couture' type dress and a photoshoot.

The wedding dress episode was so hilarious when the model screamed "I WANT RIBBONSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

^ She took it so seriously, like it really was going to be her wedding dress!

That's so cool that they are showing it in Canada.

I so wouldn't do it but I'm gonna have to go a rewatched it all again because that was just an amusing show. All th egos and the tantrums.

 Seriously, I will never stop laughing at that.

"NOOOOOO (pounds knees with fists) I WANT RIBBONSSSS (stamps feet)!!!!!!!"

Last night I saw an episode and Christopher was talking about Renato and said "He does speak the speak.... but he hasn't.... produced the garments."

 What a way to twist an old catchphrase!

Elle magazine 'scans'
As I don't have a scanner, I took these with my digital camera. I hope you can all read them ok!

(Elle magazine, June 2006, UK edition)

thanks so much rachyroo! (i am abit late) and i cant get upto london susie, but you could write about it or something yeah?

christopher and kirsty were my favorites on the show...I agree with suzie_bubble...he should've been part of the final 3. oh and thanks rachyroo for the scans. project catwalk had really talented designers compared to project runway where designers were "all talk no action".

For anyone who missed any of the episodes, the entire first series is being torrented on UKNova as type.

I'm looking forward to watching the series again before the next one starts up - whenever that is!
