Project Runway Season 3

What Happened to Jeffrey Sebelia?

On Project Runway, he was as gifted as he was catty, clawing and shredding his way to victory. So far, his fashion career hasn’t followed the script.

It's a long, interesting article so I'm going to copy & paste some highlights:

'I was fully prepared to be in front of the cameras and say outlandish things and make people snicker,' Sebelia says."

"He went home to L.A. to recuperate and wait for the phone to ring. Crowds mobbed him in the street, but business calls only trickled in."

"His first post-Runway deal? Not exactly Marc Jacobs for LVMH. “I’m almost afraid to admit what I’m doing,” he says, “but it’s costumes for a movie. It’s a live-action movie for the Bratz.” Those sl*tty dolls? “Yeah, those sl*tty dolls.”

“He was the most connected to what’s happening right now,” says Elle fashion director and Runway judge Nina Garcia. “He’s more editorial, more edgy, he has good ideas … John Galliano-esque.”

“It certainly was not his charming personality,” adds Michael Kors, another judge. “I guess he was acting that way in order to become more famous. So now it’s like, ‘Fine. You’ve got everyone’s attention. Now what?’ ”

Right now he’s crinkling his nose at the irony of Jeffrey Sebelia, he of the tattooed neck and razor-striped eyebrow, driving a car so much more conventional and fancier than he is. “The truth is,” he says, “I’m totally broke.”

^ I agree with what Nina & Michael said about him. However, I also think that Jeffrey should try to make some business calls himself as opposed to waiting for them. It goes back to when Kara Saun said that she was getting lots of calls from people and they told her that they weren't going to call if she won because they thought she'd be be too busy.

^ Last I heard, that's still up in the air because they were filming around Tim Gunn's school schedule at Parsons and the producers were even considering finding someone else. Now that he's with Liz Claiborne, I would imagine soon. :flower:

Tim Gunn now has some executive position at Liz Claiborne and he has stepped down as the Parsons Fashion School Chair.

^ Yes, what lmelanie said. Perhaps I should have cross-posted, but I did I post a couple of articles about it on the Tim Gunn thread; here they are again. :flower:

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

By Whitney Beckett
Liz Claiborne Inc. is bringing out the big Gunn.

Tim Gunn is joining the company as chief creative officer, a new post — and the first major appointment by Claiborne’s new chief executive officer William L. McComb.

Gunn is stepping down as chair of the department of fashion design at Parsons The New School for Design, but will continue on as task master for “Project Runway.”

After 25 Years, Tim Gunn Leaves The New School
by Caitlin McGinn for Inprint

Students and faculty alike were running a very fashionable five minutes late at last Tuesday's meeting, set for noon at the Parsons building in the heart of the Fashion District. Tim Gunn emerged, wearing a stunning pinstriped suit. He announced to his predominantly ripped-denim-wearing student body his plans to leave the school for an executive position at Liz Claiborne, Inc.

I am actually kinda dissapointed in him. I mean I know it's a big opportunuty, but he seemed so loyal to Parsons.

Project Runway's Alison Kelly Debuts Her Line

She may have been voted off season three after that recylced-material-dress disaster, but that hasn't stopped Alison's design career from taking off. Not only was she a fan favorite, but her women's wear line, Dahl, has been seen on the backs of Juliette Lewis, Anne Heche and Hilary Duff--post Project Runway-- and now, you can own her clothes too. Shopbop.com is exclusively offering Alison's Dahl line of easy-to-wear dresses made out of jerseys and silks ranging from $190-$436. Of her collection, that has a hint of the past in an otherwise hip contemporary look, Alison says, "When you hint at the past, then people can relate to your clothing. They see something comfortable there." That's not all, jewelry designer Rachel Leigh teamed up with the Project Runway alumni to create pieces to complement her looks. Shop the whole collection of Dahl and jewelry here.

I see what you mean but he was with them for 25 years; I think that was very loyal of him. I also can't blame him for wanting to move on up with an opportunity like that.

I just took a look at Alison's Dahl line and I'm quite disappoined. I thought that she could do better than that.

I tried to get a free Starbucks t-shirt to no avail. :( It seems like Michael's doing rather well even though his stuff doesn't look that great IMO.

"Project Runway" Winner Cuts Ties with Baby Mama

46zgpl1.jpg

TMZ has learned that tatted-to-the-neck "Project Runway" winner Jeffrey Sebelia has taken the runway off his relationship with his girlfriend Melanie, with whom he created a stylishly mohawked son.

The Cosa Nostra label owner was portrayed as a punkish family man on Season 3, with babymama Melanie and their son, who sported mommy 'n me mohawks. In the show's finale, it was all tears of joy and love, but sources tell TMZ that shortly after the show wrapped, Jeffrey decided that Mel was so last year.

It's rumored that the designer will be working on the clothes for the upcoming "Bratz" movie.

Jeffrey's reps had "no comment."

^ How is this an exclusive when I'm pretty sure the article I posted a month ago said that they split up?
