Project Runway Season 3

No Drama, No Viewer Appeal

I have been watching Project Runway for the past three seasons and it has been enjoyable. Being a former footwear designer, I understand a lot about what they are going through.

It seems to me that there would be very little viewer appeal unless there was some type of drama. For instance, Season 1 had Wendy, Season 2 had Santino and this season, we've gotten two for the money. Keith is gone, but he was the main source of frustration for many of the designers and then Jeffrey and Laura. I do not completely disagree with Jeffrey, but it was the way in which he went about dealing with Angela. But I do see his point. You break the equipment, then you need to either fix it or get some help in fixing it.

Angela seems to be in a little over her head, but I think she has some talent.

I think the final 3 will be Michael, Allison and Kayne. Followed by Uli and Laura.

I actually like that there is not that much personal drama which the "Real World" type reality shows seem to be based. I like that the production is actually able to feature the design and creative aspect of these people and not their inter-personal relationships. You get a glimpse at the creative process and the stress involved with that, not just people bickering back and forth.

^ I totally agree. That is the appeal to me, that the producers chose to show more of the designing and constructing than the at home drama, after hours fights, or love interests (if there are any!?! hah). PR is different from 99% of all reality tv in that respect....I love it that way.

NBC had them taken down; I think due to copyrite laws. You can get them on iTunes. I think an episode is only about $3. Not bad.

 i'd need both hands to squeeze that huge neck! anyway, i agree about ilovemodels on the fabric of angela's dress. it was what made it. if it was of a different fabric, that dress would not be as appealing.

thanks for agreeing and yes that was funny about the comments all of ya made on jeffrey's neck

i've been reduced to watching project runway on itunes thanks to stupid time warner (formely known as comcast), they are just too expensive. But i only pay 1.99 per episode on itunes:p

wait wtf... robert is still in?

he made two bad outfits in a row.... wtttf

Yes, and Bradley hasn't designed and created a single good outfit on the show, he was rightfully out despite his Eeyore Complex.

The judges acted like they adored his outfit on the dog challenge.

Yes, at least Nina did. I have no idea what was running through her head when she said that she'd totally shoot that dress in Elle. I think the general concensus was that that outfit sucked and that Nina had a bout of temporary insanity . . . or was just further proving her consistent insanity, if you subscribe to that theory. :p

Hey, now! I liked that outfit, with a couple of modifications I could definately picture it on a runway (of a good desinger), the color combination was also lovely and very unexpected. I dont think Elle would shoot it, where's the velour? I could see it in American Vogue.

and i have to say angelas dress was nice but lets face it it was the texture of the fabric that made it look good

This is true, but she must have had a vision/plan when making her fabric purchase. She likes things that are tucked, pleated, etc. I liked everything about the dress but those stupid rosettes at the hem. She can't keep doing that or the judges are going to get bored with her.

Michael is really my favorite. Besides his abilities as a designer, he appears to be a nice, as well as grounded person. He has a nice manner about him and even if he doesn't win this, he will be successful because backers will always like him and fund him. I appreciate the fact that he is not as hysterical as some of the other designers. He, Alison, Laura and Uli don't seem to be drama queens. I will say that Kayne's model yakking away would have caused me to throw something at her, but on the runway she knows her business.

I agree. I like Angela's dress too, but without those stupid "Signature Rosettes."

I also don't think that Michael, Allison and Uli are drama queens. But I don't agree about Laura. She keeps sticking her nose in where it doesn't belong.
Like that one episode that there was something between Keith and Michael and She got in to it and she was like "I'm just looking out for my man!" It's good that she's looking out for him, but don't get involved in other people's buisness if you don't have to. :)
