Project Runway Season 3

I can not understand why do the judges continue to keep Vincent there, I mean Allison makes one crappy outfit (which imho wasn't even that bad) and gets sent off right the way and Vincent is in the bottom three every week and still gets to stay..
When Vincent said "so I think my chances to get to the final three look good", I was like  dream on.. but after this episode I'm really scared

I know, I agree... I'm really nervous, he'll weasel his way through more challenges. Hopefully the next one won't "get him off" like this design did.

I must say its so stupid that allison got kikd out of the show....ok one mistake is done but one can do better...look at kane he did something so lame on his last challenge n he got a chance....now robert best he totaly sux *** ....so annoying n comes up with boring cloths..like really how many people havent seen a normal plain skirt and suit jacket ......the last challenge ...his garment reminded me of jay mccarrols first design in the first episode almost the same thing...seriously who cant make a dress out of aluminum paper...like wow thats hard...for real he should b out as well as vincent...and heidi is right they have been playing the game too safe...they need to break out and create something new with a diferent view and stunn the people of wat fashion is about...not a dress that has been the sam n only the fabric changes...i still think season one was the best...n michael kiks *** hes really good at making cloths as well as uli ....jeffrey does the same thing on and on..the two diferent fabrics put together and mostly the same colors in the last three chalenges red. blak grey or ivory...man im geting over project runway....they just want more drama just like top model...throw away the pretty one and keep the bitchy one so she can argue with them other models....wat the heck im liking more the show workout...thats pretty kool....alisson best wishes to u keep up the work :)

I am so pissed!

I watched the show at a neighborhood bar and EVERYONE shouted in disbelief when Alison was voted off. Since Vincent always scores low points for every competition, he should have gone. Then I realized it all comes down to ratings. I'm so freakin' pissed. I feel for Alison.

I love Heidi but could that first outfit have been any more unflattering?
How cool is your neighbourhood bar to show PR instead of some boring sports game!!!

He's a beauty pageant designer, isn't that axiomatic for tacky? Actually, it is his makeup and lip gloss that are driving me crazy. He wears more makeup than most of the girls. I think Laura wears the most because she doesn't want to be so pale and wash out on TV.

Talking of Laura, was it just me, or was she really flossing her teeth with one of those floss-holding plastic picks at one point in the workroom? She looked like she was nibbling on something, but when I paid more attention to it, it looked like that floss thing.

Also, does she wear fake eyelashes? I can't imagine a natural red-head (her skin suggests she is, even if her hair is enhanced) having such prominent eyelashes. It must be quite an effort to put them on every day, what with all the lack of sleep etc.

I missed the flossing. I have to go back and watch the entire epi. Missed parts of it including the ending. I think Laura gets up before anyone and does the whole thing. Hair, make-up etc. I'm sure she is wearing eyelashes. I saw her dark roots one week and no roots the next:lol: She must be pretty organized with all those children so no doubt she manages her time well. Speaking of that, she must be able to concentrate pretty well in all that craziness. It doesn't look like she is scrambling for time to finish like the other designers. Very focused. I think Michael is like that too. Perhaps that is why they get on so well with oneanother.

I did see enough to say that I like Jeffrey's dress even though I can't stand him. I thought it was clever. I actually understood where Vincent was coming from about trying to create an art piece. The only problem was that it wasn't wearable. I didn't think that Angela's dress was all that much better than Kayne's dress. The coup de grace with Alison was that Minnie Mouse hair bow. I think that pissed the judges off because it looked like she was making fun of the challenge. When she teased the model's hair up in the doggie challenge, it was ok. Go figure. I'm afraid that Laura's predictability in what she will design will be her downfall. Michael Kors loves her, because he sees her as the type of woman he wants to see wearing his clothes. He loves the tailored look that Laura can do so well. I would wear Laura's clothes absolutely except that I will have to wake up that morning as a completely flat chested female:rolleyes: Some of those deep V's will not work for me. Everything else is fine.

I was talking about Project Runway yesterday at my hair salon (these women work on hair at all the NYC Runway shows and celebs etc...) while debating who should've got kicked off- two of the women getting haircuts confessed they worked on reality t.v. shows for years and thats how it works. I asked HOW what works? and she replied "that crazy Vincent guy works better for t.v.- that Allison chick was too quiet and not good for ratings." She said "believe me it's all edited to make the best entertainment, they aren't going to cut the queen from the south cause he makes good t.v." The other woman agreed and said she used to work on the stylist version of this show. She said that they manipulate the viewers with the edits. My boyfriends brother produces episodes for Survivor and he told me they have to make days of boring footage interesting.
I have to say the reason that I'm disappointed about Allison leaving is that she consistantly was making good clothing- she is a fine draper- she has the motivation and skills to be a real designer in the future...and she only messed up once (and I've made dresses from paper and it's hard) Vincent is crazy- obviously- - plus he is always in the bottom--and even if someone handed him the winning prize he'd have a breakdown and buy all the wrong fabric and sit around and make terrible clothes and put them out for the wrong season- (I still can't forget that basket case hat)
As for people saying Alison is being a sore loser I have to disagree.
She made clothes for over a year at this boutique in Echo PArk and she custom made clothes for all types of bodies and is a genuine woman's woman. I met her when she was creating clothes around 19 or 20 years old and she was gorgeous--but what I found appealing was her genuine honest spirit and curiosity for things. She was never a fake person, and seemed determined to be a success. If other women find that bitchy or a negative that makes me sad for the state of women. If a man speaks his mind he is strong but if a woman states the obvious or plots a career move she is callous. I read the same article and think she is mostly trying to tell people she still has plans in fashion. I've been interviewed by people for magazines and EVERYTIME they twist something and make you say something you never intended that way. So who knows how she said all that. She of course is probably bummed she got the axe over Vincent- (who wouldn't be-) but those Heidi comments about what kind of woman would make this for another woman--blah blah are ridiculous.
Sorry for how long I've made this

Hey guys! Alison gave a really HONEST interview at www.ew.com.

Check it out.

http://www.ew.com/ew/report/0,6115,1228212_3_0_,00.html

Yes the interview HONESTLY shows that she's still bitter and immature. Instead of owning up and standing behind her creation, she goes and blame her "fat" model for her elimination. Allison knew her model's proportions from her previous challenge. She should have been an adult and defended her styling choices, which I didn't think was that terrible.

But this EW interview and her exit interview with Bravo aren't really doing her any favor. Hey, if she gets her kicks by making fun of retarted people, justified cause she has a retarted cousin, than have at it...
Maybe her being kicked off was justified after all...

The second time I watched it, I saw that she was flossing. I kept wondering why she was picking her teeth, but they showed one close-up. She was definately flossing.

Wow, that's so at odds with her otherwise chic persona. Imagine seeing that in a French workroom, say at Chanel... (She seems to be inspired by that classic style)

The only excuse I see is that they're so overworked that this is the only way she can get it done. In which case, please don't do it on camera next time!

i guess. but a little refinement would totally show his skills and that it can be applicable to the everyday person and a bigger market which the show is looking for. :flower:

I agree....Vincent's outfits each week have gotten more and more hideous. I mean it looked like he wrapped his model in paper and than had a kindergarten class decorate it with some construction paper and elmers glue. I'm suprised he didn't bust out some macroni art on it and spelled out "Mommy" or something.

I was really sad to see Allison go, as I don't think we got a chance to really see alot from her. And she did really well in teh challenge where Keith was the leader and had to go.

I really thought Uli's was the best........it really didn't look like plastic, paper and mylar.....the way she wove the skirt. It was perfection and very interesting looking.

Michael's was okay, but really ............he just wrapped her in some plastic and pinned it. I dont' think it was very innovative at all.

At this point I'm really rooting for Uli.

She wasn't making fun of ******** people, don't twist it. If you despise her so much why bother reading or watching any of her interviews in the first place? Save yourself the aggravation.

Yeah, I was a fan....until I read that interview!!!! I mean, I still like her clothes and all, but she sounded really full of herself when talking to EW, and this is what really got to me:

You didn't seem too happy with your model. Was she really that big? I mean, was she a size 4 instead of a size 2?
No, she's a lot bigger than me. She's absolutely gorgeous, but she shouldn't be a runway model. She's maybe a size 8 or a 10. She's not thin at all.

Ummm.....ok.....did she really NEED to say that? It wasn't the model's fault that the dress sucked!!!!

^ but she was bigger than runway models are supposed to be, ie: a size 0, 2 or 4. I'm just sayin. Yesss Alison should've taken into context the comparatively massive size of her model in designing the dress but she was rushed since she had to scrap her initial idea. That's her fault and she was duly dropped. I still think the dress was good, like someone mentioned there were elements of Yohji in it. Tim Gunn mentioned in his podcast that he liked it well enough to think that it could win. To each his own.

Andy brought up an interesting point in his blog at the bravo website: "The naysayers today will say that Vincent is great TV and that's why he's still on. IS HE, though? Would you rather watch Vincent than Alison?" A lot of people on this board keep saying "They just keep Vincent around because he's good TV," but NO ONE has said "I just love watching Vincent's crazy antics!" Frankly, everyone seems to dislike him (and, of course, his designs)-- so I think this point seems like a weird one to make...

But more importantly, I think the reason they keep him around is because he has a particular aesthetic (which I think is heavily motivated by 80's sportswear), and executes it consistantly each week. Same with Laura (different aesthetic, but executed consistantly for every challenge), Jeff, Angela (rosettes-- ahem, fleurchons), Kayne, Michael.... We may not LIKE his aesthetic, but at least he's staying true to his own personal style. Do I think Vincent can became "the next great American designer" with a collection spotted with odd pockets and "cooky" hats? NO. And I haven't liked a single thing Vincent has made. But this has got to be the only reason he's still on the show...

Opinions?

+Uli should have won this challenge.
+Allison should still be on the show.
+Vincent needs to go ASAP, regardless of ratings. If I have to hear him say "It turned me on" or "It got me off" one more time, I'm afraid I won't be able to watch the show anymore.

Are you saying the reason they keep him around is because he designs as if he's in a time warp? Like he was frozen somewhere since the mid-Eighties and just came back?
