Project Runway Season 3

Oh man I feel so bad for Kayne but I'm glad that Laura won and andrea and vincent are out...

I really liked Laura's the best. I feel for her being pregnant and having to be in such a tense competition.

do you suppose the next one will be similar to last season: show us a piece that would represent your theoretical collection....if so, i bet Uli goes, unless she finds a new way to show her use of prints than a halter dress.....seriously.....maybe a suit? an astronaut outfit.....anything

The challenge was to make a cocktail dress using both black and white fabrics and using all the fabrics, even the scraps.

I genuinally felt bad for Laura when she was breaking down (the hormones from the pregnancy, plus stress from the competition have got to be insane).

I love Michael more and more, as both a person and a designer. He impresses me with how caring and gracious he is. He is always happy for who ever wins.

if you took that crazy thing off her neck, angelas dress did look kind of cute.

if kayne were ever going to be eliminated it shouldn't have been for tonights piece. it really looked better than his usual stuff, but the white string in back just didnt make sense.

Oh they went to Pink Elephant, one of my favorite spots. I get VIP b/c my sister dates the owner of the Pink Elephant.

^Diorling...can I get a hookup? LOL..but seriously? ANyways, I loved this challenge, I loved the fact tht they brought back the designers which unfortunaly happened to be Vincent and Angela. I actually liked Michael outfit the best but I knew that Laura was going to win because I knew the judges were going to regard her for stepping out of the comfort zone. I say the next to go(assuming she keeps her print addiction alive) will be Uli. But I can't wait for Friday to see their collections. I seriously want to see the show....

Kayne did not deserve to go. At least not tonight. I thought his dress was cute and sexy and well made.

Laura's dress was probably the best. Well, actually I liked Michael's. It was just so MY STYLE, lol. Keira Knightley or Jennifer Aniston need to wear that dress. But Laura's was probably more accomplished. But all three Laura, Michael and Kayne did well.

Uli? Well, if it wasn't for those sleeves and that necklace, that dress was actually really cute. But, with all those things and plus that busy fabrick, the dress was a little too much.

Jeffery's dress was just, as the judges said, cheap. It did not work for me at all. Not the leggings, not the dress, nothing. I really am sick of the whole "edgy/rocky" thing. I think he's boring.

Angela and Vincent, just no. Vincent's dress was just blah, but Angela's was hysterical, lol. WHAT WAS THAT? That collar? maybe without it, the dress would've been ok, but that collar, just no. Same with Vincent, if it wasn't for the cape and if it was longer, maybe. But no.

i didn't like any of the dresses last night. so disappointed. so, i guess, laura deserved to win... hers was the best one. i did like kayne's dress in the front, but the back was a mess.

the challenge that angela won was a collaboration with michael and laura. laura pointed that out last night too. what a waste! wish it was allison instead.

I liked Laura's dress! The front part of Kane's dress was nice, but that bow seemed so out of place

in the preview footage for the next episode, it looks like uli is up to her old tricks... similar style dress in tie-dye. hmmm...she may be gone next. jeffrey is "modeling" the dress. funny.

This last episode was so anticlimactic. I mean come on! I could come up with a better idea for challenge. The challenges have been so uninspired in my opinion this time around.

The challenges this time made for good TV, but poor designing. I was thinking it would be cool to take a piece of music you love and design an outfit around it. When I sketch I am always inspired by music. How could I propose that to the PR producers? Hmmmmm

lol they basically brought them back on for no reason.

maybe it was to show how much they suck. :innocent: I think Laura and Michael are the only two that can find a niche but also expand upon it, so I hope one of them wins. I really liked Laura's dress; Uli's, not so much. btw did anyone notice how Jeffrey said something to the effect of, "It was an honor to work with you" to Kayne at the end? It was really quiet and kind of cut off... I wonder if they edit him a lot...

If I could pick the Top 3

Alison Kelly - of course she was voted off but I still love
her designs and great attitude!

Laura - I liked her black/white dress. she was able to keep
her classic style but make it younger & still keep it classy!

Michael - I like the fact that he thinks about what a woman
would want to wear, how the dress fits her curves, etc.. He
seems to be very concious of that.

All 3 have/had overall the most original/tasteful designs imo^_^

I felt the same way about Laura, I felt so bad for her. But then when she won it was almost like she was saying to herself "I did it, I can make it through one more challenge, and I can win this thing."
Personally I thinkk Michael should win, but that is what I could imagine her saying to herself.

I also agree with what you said about Michael.

When they explained why they picked Angela and Vincent to come back I said to myself "Why didn't Alison ever win a challenge! Then she could come back and everything would be made right in the world!"
Well not quite that but to that extent.

I can't wait for the finale!

I though this challenge was really cruel! I would love to know the producer's reasons for it, since it didn't seem to have much to do with the designers.

I do hope Jeffrey makes it to the final three, because Laura, Uli and Michael would be a bit boring.

I am thinking Jeffrey, Michael, and......not sure which of the other two I prefer.

I did too...if you go to the Bravo site and watch the extras, it seems she was upset really over Vincent and Angela coming back.
She really goes into it about feeling she is next to go b/c here she was just in the bottom two with Vincent and he got cut and now they bring him back??
She felt it was a sign she was gonna be cut next.
They even show the other designers and her model talking about how this move by the producers deflated Laura's drive and pushed her.
So, it seems they edited that aspect of her emotional breakdown down to make it appear solely a pregnancy thing on the show.
They also finally gave Jeffrey a truer edit rather than as "the villain"- he was funny, cracking people up, being silly- which goes to show how the editing really can be misleading.
I personally didn't think Kayne should have been sent home.
That dress was my favorite- I didn't mind the white string and the silhouette and the styling was very hip and sexy...it looked the best on the runway to me.
Methinks they had decided ahead of time to not allow a pageant designer to go to finals- that is my theory.
I could not believe that that was the losing look. Just like how I felt when Alison went home (and she had been in the top for most of her challenges but I digress...)
So, that wasn't very fair.
They said he was progressing but not fast enough.
What about Uli and her one note halters and hippie dresses?
I have seen ZERO progression from her the whole show. Even in the clip for next week on the Bravo site, they show her making yet another wild print long flowy dress- reminded me of her Icon challenge one and Laura tells her "its just like every other dress you made." and Uli laughs and Laura says," why are you laughing? I am serious." Then Jeff puts it on with a headband and swishes around for them in drag:lol:
Michael I love- the dress was a little safe and boring- reminded me of a Chloe- style dress, ya know? Nice but nothing surprising or innovative.
Jeff, I am in the middle on this- I like that he really pushed the card with innovation to really use all of the scraps- not just shove them in a purse- that is where the leggings/thigh-highs came in.
I personally would wear those- they are not for everyone but they were hot.
It was for a cocktail event not formal.
The polka dots are a matter of taste as Tim would say...yes kinda 80's...and kinda Gwen-ny but it wasn't safe or boring and it was well-made and used all the bits.
Laura's dress was my 2nd fave- mostly b/c I like her and felt sorry for her and partly b/c it was a nice, rich-looking good dress. Very well-made.
Angela's was a NIGHTMARE:shock: As Tim said in his blog:
She called the top “Edwardian.” I thought it looked more like something you’d wear for a dislocated shoulder. Bye, Angela.
:p
It clearly was a waste of time to bring them back- they offered nothing new and both their looks were hot messes.
I could not believe how she cheated with hiding the extra material in that purse she didn't even make and she got busted :glare:
She called that shrug "edwardian" I am pretty sure she added that word to her descriptive runway speak vocab after listening to and watching Alison.
Angie, if you are reading this, that shrug was NOT edwardian...jeezz, it was like something you would find at an S&M latex shoppe as part of a cyber maid costume- yikes. The skirt was black satin- ewwww- and cut in a rounded oval like a pillowslip at the bottom. Frump-ums on the bottom and scary s&m on the top and all the extra fabric stashed away in a cheesy mock croc raspberry tote.
Gross.
On another note, I loved seeing the results of the Bravo quiz ^_^
which designer would you have preferred to see return?
Alison got over 81% of the votes over both runners up Robert and Bradley.
Very telling.

style

so what did everyone think of angela's dress?

about the Project Runway 3 Models.......Why do they look past 30? or pushing 40's ....................Why not pick fresh struggling fresh faced models from various agencies, instead of having us watch these old looking models???

I kinda like the look of Gemma Ward, Carolin Trentini, Heather Marks, Natasha Poly and Natalia Vodianova ---------Can PR go to that direction??? Please?
