I genuinally felt bad for Laura when she was breaking down (the hormones from the pregnancy, plus stress from the competition have got to be insane).
I love Michael more and more, as both a person and a designer. He impresses me with how caring and gracious he is. He is always happy for who ever wins.
I did too...if you go to the Bravo site and watch the extras, it seems she was upset really over Vincent and Angela coming back.
She really goes into it about feeling she is next to go b/c here she was just in the bottom two with Vincent and he got cut and now they bring him back??
She felt it was a sign she was gonna be cut next.
They even show the other designers and her model talking about how this move by the producers deflated Laura's drive and pushed her.
So, it seems they edited that aspect of her emotional breakdown down to make it appear solely a pregnancy thing on the show.
They also finally gave Jeffrey a truer edit rather than as "the villain"- he was funny, cracking people up, being silly- which goes to show how the editing really can be misleading.
I personally didn't think Kayne should have been sent home.
That dress was my favorite- I didn't mind the white string and the silhouette and the styling was very hip and sexy...it looked the best on the runway to me.
Methinks they had decided ahead of time to not allow a pageant designer to go to finals- that is my theory.
I could not believe that that was the losing look. Just like how I felt when Alison went home (and she had been in the top for most of her challenges but I digress...)
So, that wasn't very fair.
They said he was progressing but not fast enough.
What about Uli and her one note halters and hippie dresses?
I have seen ZERO progression from her the whole show. Even in the clip for next week on the Bravo site, they show her making yet another wild print long flowy dress- reminded me of her Icon challenge one and Laura tells her "its just like every other dress you made." and Uli laughs and Laura says," why are you laughing? I am serious." Then Jeff puts it on with a headband and swishes around for them in drag
Michael I love- the dress was a little safe and boring- reminded me of a Chloe- style dress, ya know? Nice but nothing surprising or innovative.
Jeff, I am in the middle on this- I like that he really pushed the card with innovation to really use all of the scraps- not just shove them in a purse- that is where the leggings/thigh-highs came in.
I personally would wear those- they are not for everyone but they were hot.
It was for a cocktail event not formal.
The polka dots are a matter of taste as Tim would say...yes kinda 80's...and kinda Gwen-ny but it wasn't safe or boring and it was well-made and used all the bits.
Laura's dress was my 2nd fave- mostly b/c I like her and felt sorry for her and partly b/c it was a nice, rich-looking good dress. Very well-made.
Angela's was a NIGHTMARE

As Tim said in his blog:
She called the top “Edwardian.” I thought it looked more like something you’d wear for a dislocated shoulder. Bye, Angela.
It clearly was a waste of time to bring them back- they offered nothing new and both their looks were hot messes.
I could not believe how she cheated with hiding the extra material in that purse she didn't even make and she got busted

She called that shrug "edwardian"

I am pretty sure she added that word to her descriptive runway speak vocab after listening to and watching Alison.
Angie, if you are reading this, that shrug was NOT edwardian...jeezz, it was like something you would find at an S&M latex shoppe as part of a cyber maid costume- yikes. The skirt was black satin- ewwww- and cut in a rounded oval like a pillowslip at the bottom. Frump-ums on the bottom and scary s&m on the top and all the extra fabric stashed away in a cheesy mock croc raspberry tote.
Gross.
On another note, I loved seeing the results of the Bravo quiz
which designer would you have preferred to see return?
Alison got over 81% of the votes over both runners up Robert and Bradley.
Very telling.
