Project Runway Season 3

I can't believe they all couldn't stop raving about Uli's dress..yet they made Vincent the winner. I know they liked his (it was ok)...but damn.
Jeffrey should've been booted (not b/c of his 'tude, but b/c that utfit was the most frumpy, hideous thing I've ever seen.:yuk: :ninja:

I KNEW they were going to kick out Robert as soon as Michael Kors said "week after week - boring, boring, boring." Well, to me boring is better than ugly. They really meant week after wekk boring *personality*

And another good quote:

Michael Kors talking about Jeffrey's dress:

"Excuse me that looked like Commes des Garçons designing for the Amish Country"

LMFAOOOOO.... :D

oh my god, robert is gone? this show has gotten STUPID, thank god I don't have a t.v. anymore to watch it.

Robert's outfit wasn't that bad. The client liked it and with her shape, I don't know what would have been flattering. She had the hardest time walking down the runway. You could see the pain in her face.

Robert's outfit was flattering but it was just so darn boring. it feels like i have seen that particular outfit before which is not good

I still can't help but wonder what Alison would have made... sorry... I'm still not over it:blush:

Uli should have won, hands down. I'm surprised she hasn't won a challenge yet, she's very talented!

I think Vincent's was fine, good job on his part. But, I think Uli's had the 2 elements that the judges were supposed to look for: good for the client, and reflecting the designer's aesthetic. Vincent's didn't really have anything that said Vincent while Uli's was, as they all said, very Uli and still worked beautifully for Kayne's mom.

Angela's, oh my. You know Laura was cringing inside thinking, my mom would never be caught dead in fringe.

I'm sorry, but I have to stand by Vincent this time. The dress he made was fantastic, different, and made Uli's mom look fantastic. While Uli's outfit for Kayne's mom was cute, it's something we've all seen before. I'm not doubting her talent, just that this outfit wasn't particularly innovative. Go to a plus-size store, you'll find similar patterns, cuts, etc.

hate this episode. Very unfair for the designer with the larger models. I don't consider Robert's model remotely average.

I was so furious tonight. I did not think I could be more mad than I was last week when Alison was booted.

I feel like Angela and her mother plotted to make Jeffrey look bad. Just my opinion, but he was in a no-win situation. And when Angela pulled her behind the screen and told her to tell the judges the truth!!!!

Angela's dress is something that was sold at flea markets 15 years ago. Laura's mother should have been the easiest person to dress. Just look at Laura and make something she would wear.

Robert's model liked her outfit. It wasn't the greatest, but she had no expression.

Thought Uli should have won and I liked Kayne's. Did not like Vincent's dress at all. That collar! Yikes.

The designers were in a no-win situation. It's one thing to have a difference of opinion with your peer's, but if you make your peer's mom look bad or have a disagreement with them, you are sunk.

What was Jeff supposed to do halfway through the deadline? Tear it apart and start over? And with what material? I hope the judges can see how one-sided that whole thing was.

Seasons one and two were great. I had high hopes for this year. They have lost me.

I'm torn so many ways by this episode. I cannot believe that Vincint was chosen as the winner. Yes, it's probably one of the best things he's made, but it wasn't EXCELLENT. (ps. how cutttte was heidi talking to Uli's mom in german, loved it)

As for the results of the challenge: HOLY DRESS BARN, there was so much stuff you could find at a chain mall store for plus-sized women.

I also thought much of the challenge was somewhat degrading to the moms/sisters. If you were bigger (which several were) it was evident that it's difficult to design for you, and it seemed like no one wanted to do that. I've seen shows (what not to wear ie.) where bigger women get frustrated that there aren't clothes for them, and for these women and those watching that were bigger, it kinda just puts a nail in the coffin.

BUT on the other hand, there were some very interesting takes on plus-sizing.

Angela: Her dress was horrendous, Audrey Hepburn was not a flapper sweet heart. And you could tell Laura's mom was like "awww sh*t"
Laura: More high waists, maybe this challenge will show her that a high waist isn't for everyone. And I'm so happy she's pregnant again, even though I could never imagine 6 kids EVER.
Jeff: He could have easily have gone I thought, he kind of deserved to be Auf'd. If he was working with a paying client you would NEVER be like..."hey i dont like your choice so I'm doing it my way b*tch". Very unprofessional.

And I know you all are probably sick of the Alison talk but: this would have been the PERFECT challenge for her to redeem herself with the whole "I cannot believe a woman designer would do this to another woman" comment. If she pulled if off she could have won back every ounce of disdain from the judges. That's all.

Uli definately should have won! She is growing on me more and more every week.

As for Vincent....is that for real? *Yawn* that dress has been done so many times before, and the collar is straight out of the 70's (typical for vincent!). I cannot believe they named him the winner...the producers of PR need to get their act together.

I was right.. I had the feeling that they were going to design for their mom's. I was so mad at Jeffrey, I just felt that he was unnecessarily rude to Angela's mom. ANd, I did like Vincent outfit but I felt that Uli should have won because I think she is more representative of the everyday woman.

I thought it was stupid how they couldn't work for their own mother/sister. The challenge would have been much more personal, and made for a better episode...IMO.

That's what I would have assumed too, I was like...Why wouldnt they work with thier own relatives?

PR has gotten sooo stupid, it's really obvious they're running out of ideas...

I wasn't too crazy about this challenge. Of course they never worked with real, older women before...It just doesn't seem fair. Although, I also wondered what Alison would have thought up. Haha.

Plus, I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. Maybe because I'm young? But I wouldn't want my MOM to be seen in them. Although, I liked Michael's dress although it's only good for the 30-40 year old range...Where Vincent's dress reaches women from 50 and up.

Jeffrey's behavior was unacceptable with Angela's mom. I don't care if he hates Angela or not. He should have come up with some compromise to make them BOTH happy. That's what you do in the fashion business, or ANY business for that matter. Then they had to come up with a sob story for Jeffrey & his behavior. Like we should feel sorry for him. That doesn't excuse him for being the type of person he is at times!

All in all, it was a weird show. I wonder who the "jet setter" will be though on next week's show...Perhaps Heidi or Michael Kors? Because I heard about his clothes being for the "jet setter" type.

I dont think Michael should have won, at all! His look was so...Dress Barn...

I KNOW, Im so surprised at Robert too! I was flipping through this Barbie calendar I have (dont ask) and every month has a super gorgeous outfit. He does do a good job at knocking off vintage Dior though...Why can't he knock it off on Project Runway!?!
