Project Runway Season 3

UGH @ Jeffrey! What an effing jerkoff! I got teary-eyed when Angela's poor mom started crying. You can tell that she's a very sensitive person and that Jeffrey's utterly rude and tactless behavior truly effected her.

I actually like Vincent's dress for once! The fit was really great. I just hated that they ripped on Kayne. I kind of liked his outfit.

This show is losing all credibility in my book. Living in hollywood and having lots of friends in the industry who work/produce reality shows -I know for a fact that they manipulate every angle in the edits. You have to look through the smoke and mirrors to see the true story. I highly doubt we saw all of the dialogue between Jeffrey and Angelas mom. She walked in and was already doubting his design before talking to him, putting him on a defensive. I don't think we got to see what led to him saying all that. There was a martyr quality to all that tear stuff, sorry to say. I've never been a huge fan of Jeffrey's personality on the show before, but do respect his honesty. I think his dress was eh, but felt that Angela was trying to instigate JEffrey's auf-ing. He showed real tears when he cried over Robert being one of the"good" people to go. Angela is fake- and gives Ohio a bad name (my home state)
Vincent as the winner is the icing on the cake of this lackluster episode. this show is about discovering an innovative creative designer (with their own individual aesthetic - and getting them started on a path to runway fashion) Vincent had his chance in the 80's - he is not bringing anthing new to the table. For someone as promising as Allison- with youth on her side to get auf'ed over that guy is a crime.

I was so furious tonight. I did not think I could be more mad than I was last week when Alison was booted.

I feel like Angela and her mother plotted to make Jeffrey look bad. Just my opinion, but he was in a no-win situation. And when Angela pulled her behind the screen and told her to tell the judges the truth!!!!

Angela's dress is something that was sold at flea markets 15 years ago. Laura's mother should have been the easiest person to dress. Just look at Laura and make something she would wear.

Robert's model liked her outfit. It wasn't the greatest, but she had no expression.

Thought Uli should have won and I liked Kayne's. Did not like Vincent's dress at all. That collar! Yikes.

The designers were in a no-win situation. It's one thing to have a difference of opinion with your peer's, but if you make your peer's mom look bad or have a disagreement with them, you are sunk.

What was Jeff supposed to do halfway through the deadline? Tear it apart and start over? And with what material? I hope the judges can see how one-sided that whole thing was.

Seasons one and two were great. I had high hopes for this year. They have lost me.

I completely agree with you on the Jeffrey sitch.
Here is a post I made for another board:

I watched it with a group of designers and we felt Angela's mom from the get-go was playing the martyr and bad-mouthed him for the colors before she even knew the lighter colors were going to be accents only and she did ask for dark colors and said she like dark purple.
She had no respect for him as an artist and was pushing his buttons.
She bugged the hell outta all of us.
The other moms were more supportive even if it wasn't their "thing".
And for Angela to say to her mom behind the changing curtain..."and if they ask you, tell them exactly what you think of this outfit mom" and she also had told her mom basically that she disliked and didn't get along with Jeffrey on the couch...how manipulative.
We thought Michael's model was a bit unfair- she was not only thin but also proportioned and alot younger too.
His design was ok but this shows how much a model can take it further.
Robert's was flat-out ugly and unimaginative and frankly, he has always bored me so I was ok to see him go. It was nice to see that Jeff really has another side they have clearly been editing out. He gave Robert's arm a squeeze in support as he left the runway and was bummed and cried backstage. He said to his mom some thing about Robert being a good person and bad people staying on (Angela).
Hated Vincent's and when they announced he had won, our jaws dropped.
More on Angela, that outfit was horrendous.
She should have been bottom two.
Laura's mom is a gorgeous and stylish woman and she managed to work that piece of crap even though it was foul.
When Angela had the nerve on the runway to make faces and pull grimaces (you can see her in the background) when Jeff was answering his questions to the judges, I wanted to slap her.
Then when she had the gall to diss his outfit b/c clearly she was already in trouble herself, she made herself look mean.
I think Jeff did the best he could in a bad situation- wow- that woman was a real pill and clearly was Angela's weepy "poor me" passive-agressive martyr mom to a tee.
I did love Michael Kors' mom- so classy in a crusty way.
I loved how Michael K said Jeff's look was " comme des garcons if they went to amish country"
at least, he showed a bit of who he was even though it came out kinda funky.
Both Robert and Kayne bored me.
Uli's was the cutest and showed a bit of her.
Does this mean Vinnie has immunity now  ?

Nope. No immunity this episode.

I actually liked Kayne's, and Uli's was the best. I love the manipulation of prints.

Vincent's looks exactly like Carol Brady c.1974- seriously, I think that was in an episode.

Jeffery was a total a** to angela's mom. He was just...mean. Not cool.

Next week is apparently: (hi light white text to see)

the designers are desinging for Delta air...and may be going to Parson's paris

I feared Vincent would win cause they made him look like such a jerk last week and weren't focusing on him at all this week. I did like his design.. kind of. The folds of the collar weren't done well imo and the fabric was too wrinkly around her stomach which only called more attention to it. It was a nice design tho, the silhouette was nice at least.

Robert, I am glad to see him go. It bothers me when people like him even get on PR in the first place. He was nice but wtf... completely lacking in actual creativity. So boring!!! And who thinks Jackie O would wear a baggy windbreaker.

I loved Michaels. I'd probably wear it, with a diff belt. Reversable dress, when the challenge was the everyday woman... I thought it was such a good idea.

also Uli's outfit, I loved, for Michael's mom. The juxtaposition of her patterns shows how incredible her eye for design is. I'd totally never think of putting some of the patterns together than she does but it totally works.

Jeffrey... I agree with him, believe it or not. Angela's mom is passive aggressive and couldnt say anything to him before it was too late. I think she was trying to sabotage him because him and Angela don't get along. They showed him being rude but I would have been as well. It's his ***, his career on the line. She should have been more involved and said what was on her mind. Told him things as they popped into her mind, not to Tim Gunn when theres not enough time to change the design, etc. I didnt buy her crap.

And it's official... Laura should just be a tailor imo.

ohhhhh that makes sense!! that would be kind of cool - reminds me of this bar in DC called fly and all the bartenders are dressed liked flight attendants haha.

yes, though i did feel bad about angela's mom, i am suspicious of her and angela's intentions re: jeffrey. i mean, jeffrey is an *** and it does not take much to get a rise out of him, so it would've been easy to manipulate a situation out of that. besides, i don't believe that even if jeffrey is a huge jerk, he would, with no good reason, tell someone else's mom off in front of his own mother! im going to have to wait and listen to what tim gunn has to say about this one in his podcast.

also, giving vincent the win is such a crap - like a consolation prize or something. uli should've won for sure - that girl has an eye for this business.

um, and could michael kors and his mother be the same age??!

Wow I hadn't seen that. I looked a couple of weeks ago and saw some of the outfits selling for $200 or less

and I just saw that Laura's design from last week was sold for almost $2,000!

Uli totally should have won. The fact that Nina described Uli's design as "It's you, but made for her" definatly made me think she'd won... that was the point of the whole challenge.

I was surprised that they didn't mention how wrinkled Vincent's dress was. It was bothering me the whole time she was standing there.

^ Tim lambasted his win...my jaw dropped.

There was only half a collar, and it made Uli's beautiful mom look frumpy around the middle.

Amen sister. I totally am on Jeff's side for this one. And I wonder how Laura feels about Angela after dressing her mother so hideously. Uli should have won. The show reminds me now of the teacher in the elementary school classroom who makes sure "everyone has a turn at winning." Vincent's dress --- please. That woman was stunning and he put this ginormous belt at her waist, which sat inches from the ginormous collar.

The judges are voting on personalities now. Michael Kors loves Laura and will fight for her to the death.

Why does Uli keep getting robbed?! I thought her drapped blouse last night looked the best, by far. It had a beautiful, yet understated pattern, and the sheerness allowed to see her silhouette... yet, the billowy fabric didn't emphasize her size. It fit perfectly, the color choice was superb for the model, and it had some personality!

Even though Vincents dress was a huge step up for him... I didn't believe it was a winner. I'm sure Uli's mother had a fantastic body, and the dress made her look lumpy. Idea = wonderful, execution = horrid.

I was honestly surprised that Michael didn't win it for a third time. Beautiful tailoring, nice choice of pattern, and it was reversable! What does an everyday woman want more than two outfits in one??

I was pretty much dissappointed in everyone else. Especially Laura, and how she pretty much ignored the proportions of her model. Sure, a 6 foot amazon woman could pull off such a high waist line, but this poor woman looked like her already petite frame was cut in half. I thought Kayne would have done something far more interesting considering the personality of his model. And Angela..... she just needs to be off of the show. Week after week of bad design. She can preserve her uniqueness in design, as long as it is more thought out. She just keeps adding, and adding, and adding, ultimately ruining her own design. The dress last night could have stayed out of the bottom three had she left the fringe off. And Jeffrey's design last night was plain ol' bad. No other way to explain that one.

You really need to listen to Tim Gunn's podcasts. They are the best. And also on his blog, he blasted Vincent's dress. When you listen to his podcasts, you realize that he really does not like Vincent at all.
