I love Kara Saun's designs, but she is so good to the point of being conventional. After seeing the collections, it's all about Jay! His designs are funky as hell! Love 'em.

Just to clear up some confusion...

All 4 designers are presenting on the runway, but ONLY the 3 top designers will have their fashions showcased on the actual show!

Also, there are reports that AUSTIN is probably the one kicked out! His clothes werethe most patched-together-- one reporter saw one of his trains being held to a skirt with safety pins!

I am shamefully addicted to reality tv! ^_^

I was at the show this Wednesday and I can tell you that no one clapped for Wendy's designs. The person who seemed to impress the crowd the most and also my choice for best designs in the show was Kara. What was funny was Heidi told everyone to stay seated because they had intended on filming twice for shooting/editing purposes, but when the show was over everyone just got up anyway. :innocent:

Am I the only one who finds Kara Saun's designs boring. She is a good designer, but she is too "safe". the only one of her designs that I liked was for the futuristic collection, the rest bored me.
Wendy is a disaster. She looks like a highschool lunch lady and her designs... :sick:

Austin is a great costume designer, his designs would look great on a Broadway or a Moulin Rouge-esque movie.
Jay...I think he deserves to win more than anyone else on the show.

i think kara is a fantastic designer and deserves to win this contest. i don't think they're looking for someone avant garde or too unconventional.. although i think jay is also very good. my impression based on the show is that there seems to be some inconsistency with austin... granted each challenge is very different, some of his pieces just come together beautifully while others just don't...
i think wendy is def just on the show cuz she's such a character (a crappy one at that) and creates drama.. which is a shame cuz someone else definitely deserves to be in her place

i agree jay should win..although i don't love his style..I liked his styling from the final show! overall, it think it had more impact than karas which is OK, but too conventional and not as spectacular to win. Also, even though kara won, and i agree with most of the judges..jay's designs still show more versatility and wit..

I am going to wait until I see the actual shows to be more committed to my opinions, but so far I've been seeing Kara as the runaway winner, with Jay being a worthy contender though not as able to complete the look hes been after within the pressures on the show. After seeing the pics from the Gettyimages...I still think Kara's collection was cohesive, detailed, consistent theme, etc...BUT WOW -- I think Jay had some great work which I think make a strong impression. He'll be successfull regardless of the outcome of this television show. Kara's work is probably more marketable, while Jays has more edge.

I agree with you. I think Jay's stuff is edgier too, but remember, the job at hand is with Banana Republic, one of their main sponsors. With that kind of political sitch in mind, Kara is probably the better choice for the judges to pick.

Indeed, Kara is a better fit...which is indicative of her many wins on the show. Nonetheless, I believe Jay will be successful...most likely in another company or on his own.

Jay is now teaching at a school for fashion in Philadelphia! Also, he now has a contract with Baguetta to showcase his designs in their Manhattan store. He is already doing well.

Also, Morganzilla strikes back in the new Dooney 'n Burke ads! She looks pretty awful though...
