Riccardo Tisci - Designer

The original brand logo felt more distinctive than this one.
Another fail.
As for the new pattern, i like it! I wouldn't mind having it as a lining for a trench-coat.

Hate the new logo. Looks like every other logo now. I don't know why designers insist on changing logos so much. Try to switch it up by being innovative in the designing for once..

Wtf the original logo was so iconic!
I do like the new monogram pattern though....

I hated the old logo. It was plastered on everything, from desperate looking licensed items to fake bags and it cheapened the brand so much in my opinion. I wouldn’t carry anything that had those gold letters on it. Same with Prada. So I truly don’t mind the change, even though the new font is not as distinctive.

I love the original logo because it wasn't what make the brand less desirable. I still dream of one day to own a Prorsum coat, partly because of the logo. Now Burberry is just one of those brands. What it needs is innovation in design and creative direction that put the most iconic name in British fashion back on track. So far, I don't see how this will work. Given the current fashion state, he can put the new logo on a white tee and sell it to the teens. It makes money. But what would make it different than Off-White or Vetements?

For those who expected some big shake-ups leading up to the first collection of these newly appointed creative directors (e.g. Tisci, Slimane), well, be careful what you wish for. I can't believe the legendary Peter Saville came up with such a basic logo. The monogram pattern, I'm not sure if I like it either but it does have a potential. I need to see its translation to the clothes, because the resolution of the preview picture makes it appear cartoonish.

I do not like the new logo or monogram. The logo is far too basic, and did we need both London and England?

I like the new monogram, it's giving me some serious 60's Picadilly Circus vibes, however the Logo feels a tad too basic, it'll probably look cool emblazoned on leather goods but I feel like it's too close to what Balenciaga or Saint Laurent already did, and once we see the printed ads it's not gonna make for a distinctive image. Agree with the above poster that the "London England" is too much, either one or the other. Happy for Peter who went on SHOWstudio to complain about his cash problems.

I like the monogram but not the logo. Punctuation! London, England.

Totally dating myself here. I still remember when they dropped the apostrophe-S at the end of "Burberry's."

Looks like Hermes tie motif.....

Well I do not hate it...

I'm so tired of big, over-hyped rebranding efforts. A new monogram - fine. A new logo? Not so much. It's silly, IMO. The logo was distinctive and memorable and recognizable. And as others have said, make sure the clothes are fresh and interesting first...the old logo would look great in any gorgeous garment...a new logo isn't going to save a poor garment. Plus, with creative directors lasting but two or three years now, full blown rebrands always feel very precarious and presumptious....it's like....oh.....you really want to invest in all new stores? Packaging? Labels? Leather goods debossing? Stationary? And all for a company that huge? OK.....good luck!

Plus, the redesign is quite limp, anyway...Saint Laurent? Balenciaga? These all now look the same.

All this brands spending MILLIONS to rebrand themselves to the end look like the same. Its literally the SAME font every damn time. I would be surprise if this is not a strategy to fool the consumer.

The monogram is good tho, it have energy. Lets see.

Agree. What's going to happen when he inevitably leaves? Another 'iconic' rebranding. :ermm:

I actually really loved the knight logo - at least it was distinctive.

I just feel like after the Phoebe Philo's Celine, All the big brand are recreating their logo to a more subtle, minimalist typography logo.

I like the new logo, but honestly I couldn't care less until I see the actual CLOTHES. That's the thing that we need to see

^^^ Yeah, this feels very department-store fodder. The type for the logo is just a slightly altered take of a well-known typeface that I’ve been using myself for some time LOOOL Oh Peter, a tad lazy, aren’t we????

Christopher’s rebranding initially was absolutely beautiful; from the stately campaigns to the regal logo. And the Prorsum knight logo embroidered tone-on-tone inside of certain pieces were that special touch of exclusivity that brings in a bit of extra luxury.

But all this department-store banality will be a non-issue if Riccardo's designs are strong. And going by the preview, it looks decent so far…

BTW, the monogram that's posted here is actually a 2-page spread (teaser?) ad that's running in the Sept issue of British Vogue LOL

^ Wait ... there was an apostrophe S?!

Can you really get rid of the old Burberry logo? (Or plaid?) I have it burned into the wood handles of multiple umbrellas, so it still lives in my world ;) I find the new pattern quite Gucci-esque and predict a short life for it. Burberry have never been horsey, have they? The logo's all right.
