RIP Alexander McQueen CBE 1969 - 2010

This is my favoutire McQueen collection plus my number one choice for the last decade.

Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2003
Including the introduction of his signature Skull Scarf.

my favorite will always be the Spring/Summer 2004 collection..the dancers,the dresses..sigh..

My favourite is S/S 2001, that's the collection that usually represents pure McQueen. I also like FW 1999 and S/S 2006.

i can't imagine how the fashion weeks will ever go on with any kind of celebration whatsoever...it just feels so depressing. we've lost a master so tragically....somebody many designers have either looked up to,been involved with in experience or just a peer.

i think the reason why so many are affected by this is because he has in some way or another enchanted us immensely with his honesty, originality and authenticity.

All we can do is celebrate his life and the wonderful work that he gifted us with ;) He'll live on in his collections forever.

I'm hopeful that one day in the future somewhere like the V&A will do a retrospect of his work, that would be a wonderful tribute

My best friend just called his last collection a swan song :(

R.I.P McQueen. Your breathless collections and fierce creativity will inspire generations.

Just last night me and my sister were talking about McQueen's perfume Kingdom and how it was discontinued. Then just this morning my local news were talking about him but I missed what they said about him. I thought it was so odd for them to be talking about him since fashion designers are not talked about much on the news. I searched about him just now and found out about the news of his death. I am truly shocked and sad by this. I don't want to believe he is gone because he was such a true genius. He was really one of a kind and will be missed so much:cry:.:(.

My favorite of his collections

my prayers go out to his family and the ones he loved and showed him real love

R.I.P.

for me,the collection i will always remember will be the sleepy hollow collection from a/w 2002. the character hooded in a sweetly macabre purple cape and wolf in hand...

also "the shining" collection....the asylum.....

wow he was a performance art designer. I'm so sorry your life ended so soon. You will and your work will definitely be remembered and will be in the history books.

Rest In Peace Mr. Alexander McQueen

P.S,
I remember when I was younger and he did an interview and something he said scared me. I just know I felt scared for him like he was a really sad person. I remember every time I saw him on t.v or drove by his store, felling grateful he was alive. It was an interview on "fashion file" about him being bought out, if I remember correctly.

I'll always remember the robot spraying the girls dress. I loved that! It was beautiful, dramatic and scary at the same time!

I'm so upset about this. It's not just been one of those "oh, that's really sad" deaths; I am devastated. I have been crying about this on and off all day. He has always been my favourite designer. He was the reason I am obsessed with fashion and am going to study design at university next year. He was the reason I was planning on applying to Central Saint Martin's, even though I live across the other side of the world.

RIP McQueen. The fashion world truly has lost its most innovative designer. I am going to miss your work forever.

It is cliche to say but the chessboard presentation was probably one of the biggest reasons I came to love and work in the fashion industry. I saw it on the Style channel when they showed fashion shows late night and was blown away.

i always loved his collaborations with Björk; that's how i first found out about him back in 1997. actually, his art got me into fashion.
