Self Service #55 F/W 2021.22 : Kate Moss by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

So the layout it's not in black as the first post suggested, probably it's gold....

It looks like a good issue. But I still can’t get over the fact that the changed format. I miss the old Self Service.

A wonderful surprise to see Emmanuelle Alt styling for Self Service! Throw in Kate Moss and Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott and I'm sat here wondering about how I am to source a copy. This is a total must-have, and the two covers give me more than what most Vogue covers have this month.

They changed the format? i thought only the hardcover for a soft one.

I bet you don´t live in Europe

Ha, I don't. :D

If you don't smoke in France, you're probably a health freak...everyone seems to smoke there. The world doesn't end in the United States...

It's not USA against the World, it's ME against the World. Lol.
I lost a brother and sister to lung disease directly related to them smoking their entire life.
It was painful to watch, and it just makes me sad at this point.
So at the risk of offending my friends in Europe and the rest of the Globe...
I Fu*-ing hate cigarettes, I really wish people wouldn't smoke and don't like to see it on a magazine cover.
I promise I won't lecture anyone about it again. :smartass:

When you put it like that it’s not that big of a change  But that’s what I meant. I just miss the hardcover.

Yeah, the USA is not the center of the world and neither it is Europe, let alone Paris.

Smoking is f*cking disgusting. I honestly don't even care that my grandparents died of lung and colon cancer thanks to someone being an obnoxious, indoors chainsmoker.. it's the walking vapor ball what's revolting. Unless you genuinely enjoy having a stranger's morning, toilet-smelling breath magnified with a disposable pipe, fuming on your face and staying with you on hair/clothes/skin, then I don't really believe that you can only be a 'health freak' if it bothers you. Smoking is essentially that, your gross aerosols magnified, disguised with the smell of tobacco, it's unnecessarily intimate if you think about it. Reason why gum or "rose"-smelling juuls are just as gross. I would be out of my mind to start breathing on people's faces with my mouth open right after eating tuna so.. don't make it sound remotely normal just because a habit from centuries ago when people had all kinds of questionably hygienic ways of having fun has stayed with us.

(fyi, it also severely affects your partner's sexual experience and I don't mean it in the orthodox way, just.. google it haha).

Back on the cover, Kate looks okay to me..? we're all aging with a certain expression and she's heading towards the mega exhausted one.

Hahaah no no of course it was a big change but i thought something else changed for this issue. I miss the hardcover too specially for such a thick magazine.

Some stellar previews of Kate Moss I managed to find so far... she looks spectacular! It's the content I imagined we'd get for the VP anniversary, tbh.
Nothing beats Kate Moss with a cigarette ♥ Mert & Marcus do it best! This is already a classic.

One of my favourite fashion images is Jean Patchett by Irving Penn, as seen through the wine bottle, so of course I love this editorial. Leclerc already did some interesting work in POP and there's also a touch of Meisel's "interpretative" eye here in addition to Penn IMO. Thank goodness Joe McKenna is still a good stylist (most of the time), this is so classy! I believe it's a street cast?

Sorry, Imgbox doesn't work for me!

so i will start posting

unfortunately most of creative management agencies now ceased to post full editorials, i don't know why, because as for me it's a free PR that your completed works are posted all over insta and internet, but i guess they are against this so not only artpartner, but lots of other agencies are no longer posting current work of their contributors or post it not in full

so i will only post HQ and full editorials

as in previous issue there is a large OBSESSIONS section (current works mixed with archival Kate Moss iconic shoots remastered with new accessories - as a digital collage)
advertorials of brands (bottega, etro, cartier, lacoste, ysl etc)
and main editorials - this is all Kate moss related
