So You Want to Become a Model? (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

i know, but im just worried because i was talking to my dad about it and he said i should "be loyal"

well yea..its nice to be loyal to someone, but when you're trying to launch a modelling career you have to think of whats best for yourself, and if the other agency is clearly a better option, then you should probably go for it.

whats the other agency, if you dont mind me asking?

the one i'm thinking about sending pictures to : mgmt first
one i'm sort of committed to: smallgroupmodels.... small mother agency owned by a scout from mc2... has placed girls with ford, elite and vision

hmmm ..they both look fairly similar becuase they're both placement agencies

id stick it out for awhile..and if smallgroup doesnt do anything for you..consider other options

just my advice..

i agree with you, but i emailed mgmt first about my current situation regarding mangement anyways

Have they done anything to develop you? Did they ask you to work on your measurements/skin? If they are waiting for you to change something then don't leave them.

Part of management is knowing WHEN a girl is ready to be pushed.

^no, they said that my measurements and skin were great. it's just been taking a little bit of time to get the pictures back for various reasons. so i think i am going to stick it out with them and see how things go... if they go poorly, i'll contact mgmt first

it probably has already been asked..but, when you go to an open call do they ask you some questions?? e.g "why do you want to be a model" or this kind of things??

Not really. Not in NY anyway. If they don't like you they won't bother. I only got that asked once and that was when Elite scouted me.

Sometimes. I mean there isn't any set rule of questions they ask...some might not ask any. But usually it's things like:
How old are you? How tall are you? Where are you from? What's your nationality? Etc etc. Obviously if they are very interested, they'll ask more questions regarding your availability, what you want to get out of modeling, etc.

I swear that this thread just goes over the same questions over and over.

That's so true ... and it's because most people don't realize that the answers are already here. All they have to do is read ..... :innocent:

^I've read through this thread many times before, but it was a while ago and then I didn't think it would ever apply to me, so some things were forgotten or overlooked.

I apologize for that. :flower:

ok so i told mgmt first about my situation and the president of the agency replied back "i think you deserve better, don't you?" and then he asked for my phone number so he could contact me.....sorry for rambling but i'm still unsure of what to do because since my dad said i should "be loyal" to the other guy, he'll get mad that this other agency is trying to sway me over to them

Well it's kinda hard since this thread is 166 pages long.
I think that there should be like a huge FAQ post ^_^

^ I agree!!! Moderators should make a FAQ thread about 'How to become a Model'.

oh well it's not a big deal to ask questions over again.. they always are a little bit different. it's really hard to read through the whole thread to answer a question..
if you guys dont want questions repeated dont have a forum, have a bulletin board nobody can comment on or something
