So You Want to Become a Model? (PLEASE READ POST #1 BEFORE POSTING)

^Everyone always says to wear something body conscious and simple, like jeans and a plain tank, but is it alright to wear something other than that, as long as it's fitted and not too distracting?

^It's fine, don't worry about it so much.

Just remember: body conscious, sleek and clean

go look at the model street style thread if you really need help.

^Thanks! :flower:

I love model streetstyle.:heart: I always assumed it was different for signed models and aspiring models, though, and that it varied between just visiting your agency or getting to a job/casting as opposed to meeting an agency for the very first time and showing them you with no distraction.

Thank you for the tip!

Keep it simple. Be chic. Be clean, like Rochas said. Don't look like you're coming out of a mall or you high school - look like a model.

I decided not to be a model anymore, I don't have a desire for it anymore...

^ From 16 - 21 in London and Australia then I stopped, but I was going to get back into it and in the Asian market because I'm eurasian but I'm 24 now....

Upon meeting an agency, do you get asked to change into a bikini for them to see your body/take bikini polas?

Also, is it okay to come in with straightened hair/bangs as long as it looks good?

^stop freaking out about it lol

There's no set answers. they may or may not

Just go in looking your best.

End of story.

^:lol:Sorry. I just want to be prepared. I think that's the last I will post in this thread! lol

If you want the best advice I can give, go in with; body conscious clothing (a cute skirt or skinny jeans or something like that with a fitted top), heels, any photographs or polaroids you may have of yourself, hair down and neat, light makeup but not much, maybe a bikini just to be safe (ive never heard of an agency taking bikini pols on a first walkin though), and a positive attitude. That's ALL you need.
Don't freak out, don't worry...It's not rocket science.
Just think of it as a job interview, except with a modelling agency.

It's not necessarily always the same. It's not like all agencies follow strict procedures with each girl. If you're going on an open call, they might not ask you at all (this has never been my experience) but if you have a meeting set up already it seems more likely.
It's a good idea however to have your bikini underneath your clothes (or bring it along with) in case they do want to see you/Polaroid you in your swimsuit. When I met with MC2 I didn't have my bikini with me and they asked if I'd be comfortable being photographed in my underwear. You'll probably be asked, but who knows. Either way it's best to be prepared, right?

And I think as long as you look your best, the hair shouldn't be an issue. Whatever makes you look good is the way to go. They might want to know what your hair looks like naturally, but I don't think it should be a big deal if it looks good, you know?

Thank you very much!:flower: And if you bring polaroids with natural hair/in a swimsuit that's good too, right?

Thanks for all the responses!

JR1 is correct.

This forum is only for advice about how to get started in modeling and you may ask questions about the process, agencies, how open calls work, scams, etc. But you may not post pictures or your measurments and we do not give critiques about whether or not we think you are suitable for modeling. In fact ... only an agency can tell you if your look is what they are looking for.

The other thread in Heart & Soul for posting a personal picture is not for critiques, either. You may post only one image and no one is allowed to make remarks.

So.. what are the best agencies in Germany?

Good to hear Milan wants beauty again... That's positive to me haha.
