Wool doesn't repell water, to the contrary it absorbes 40% of it's weight, the thing is that you can't tell, so it still seems dry.
When it's pouring water it's a matter of staying as dry as you can for me otherwise i'll just get sick with the cold.
But it's even more difficult to solve the warm weather heavy rain. You'd love to get a refresh, but if you're soaking wet you cannot go anywhere or you get cold when it's warm--- it's complicated.
