Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2018 : Danielle Herrington by Ben Watts

The pic with Barbara and the surfboard is horrific. Hailey looks pretty decent and Robin is criminally underrated. They should have ended with Anais's edit.

The quality level is definitely hit the floor for this, sadly. It used to be really tasteful and sexy.

I mean, we've been saying it for years - but it seems kinda official, non? SI Swimsuit is dead.

There's ZERO creativity here. There are plenty of beautiful women modeling swimwear, but there is an absolute complete lack of originality or any sense of concept beyond a totally typical "swimsuit catalogue pose on tropical beach". It's really embarrassing. And a tremendous step down from their heyday when they seemed to really try for something unique and interesting in their photoshoots. They used to go to different locales and really incorporate the spirit of that place in their shoot. Sometimes they'd shoot at night (I remember a great Eva H night shoot) or with the most gorgeous sunsets.

This is just supremely lazy. There's no reason why a model with a successful career outside of this should be interested in adding SI Swim to her resume. And it used to have the influence to create legit supermodels and also would be a draw for some of the biggest names in modeling world.

Now ...?

I mean, it's a nice cover. That's for sure! And Danielle is incredibly beautiful and she's a great cover choice. But the rest of the pics from the issue are just so lackluster.

Also WHAT is Alexis Ren's posing?! She's like a body contortionist. I genuinely don't understand the literal physical impossibility of her proportions.

Bianca Balti and Lais Ribeiro always showing how it should be done, without being vulgar!
