Tall women vs short women ...

... Ive never looked at a short person and thought that, because their head is probably IN PROPORTION to their body (kind of like a 9 heads thing).

Your organs can also be smaller because obviously they'll grow as you get bigger. How old are you? Because it's really odd that you've never seen people at different heights w/ different proportions.

And people's heads aren't all the same size anyways. Ive seen people w/ big heads and it usually has little to do w/ height.
If you read closely, my first words were "at the extremes". Of course porportions are similar between a 5'5'' person and a 5'9'' person, but when you have people who are 4'10'', the porportions are not always the same. It's more that taller people look like they have smaller heads. There is variation in head size, but take at girl who is 5 ft tall and one who is 6'2,'' their head sizes will not be porportional.

I noticed what nietche noticed. I am just under 6ft,and when i sit down next to most women, there is not much difference in how talll i seem. it seems most the height from being tall is from the legs and neck.

i think being short is great since it is easier to seem curvy. also its easier to seem slender. most people assume if your tall, you should be modellish thin. i had a romie who was 5.9 and150. a fine weight for her height. people called her 'thick' it was ridiculous. (according to medical charts 145 is the ideal weight for 5.9)

I think preference is key. Many tall want to be shorter, many short people want to be taller. Just like how people with straight hair complain they want curly hair and vice versa. People always want what they can't have.
Like I've said before, if you don't have your sights set on being a fashion model, then being under 5'7" isn't the end of the world. there are advantages of being on the 'shorter' side. And if you don't have your sights set on being a Jockey (horse racing), then there really is no big deal about being tall.
There are advantages and disadvantages, just like there are pros/cons that comes with everything else in life.
Height, like weight is superficial, and I'm sure that if we weren't all interested in Fashion models, or fashion trends, etc, we wouldn't see being under 5'9" an end to your life.

you just can't win here... i'm 5'2 and 3/4 (:ninja:) and it seems like it's much harder for me to stay thin than my taller friends... for example, if i pig out over the weekend and gain a couple of pounds, it's totally noticeable. whereas if they do the same, you'd never notice...

maybe becuase tall people have more room to store the weekend pig out
man i'd love to grow a few inches haha

haha! Its true!! I'm 5'9 and a UK size 10/12 (I don't weigh, weighing makes me feel bad!) and I am convinced that if I was shorter I would be much "bigger" than I am now. Tall people can definetely carry more weight than shorter people!

That's the problem here....wanting things we can't have. And if we can't have them, then whats the point in complaining, it's only making yourself feel inadequate, always comparing yourself to those who have something genetic you want and cannot get.

I think the only debate here, is if people are confident enough to accept their height, and let it go.

This really shouldn't be a competition. ^_^
I think tall women look good only with slim body and skinny bone structure otherwise they look too big.
Short women can be cute and attractive, the same cute and attractive like tall women. :)
It's all about personal taste.

I only 5 feet something and I used to hate being so short. I'm well proportionate and consider small built but I find that height give you certain edginess.

After a while I learn to appreciate it. Short or tall have their own advantages and disadvantages. It's just depends on which one we want to emphasize on.

I sometimes envy shorter women because they can wear fun super-high heels more often. It just seems more natural. I try not to let my height stop me, though. With my Louboutins, I can be as tall as 5'11 and I feel powerful. With my flats, I'm my true height – 5'7" and I feel accessible. I just think it's awesome that women have options and can play with their height. Men do not have that advantage.

That's interesting... the vast majority of very tall people I know, both male and female, have much longer torsos than they do legs. I have longer legs than well over half of the 5'9+ people I know.

I'm a girl...6'1" and there are soo many disadvantages of being tall! trust me, here in canada most stores carry an inseam of 32" 34" inches... I need at least 37" 38" inseam! not to mention my big feet (size 11) even when i do find size 11 shoes they never fit cuz they are wayyy too wide! plus that whole feeling like an alien thing when people stare at you.... answering a billion questions about why i'm tall, how i got tall, how are you going to find a boy that is tall enough for you!? (i have a boyfriend and he is shorter than me by like 4 inches! lol and he never mentions height, i can even wear heels with him if i wanted)
i would say i'm happy the way i am though, i wouldn't want to be any other way because then it just wouldn't be me! everybody should be happy with themselves, we are all unique, just love yourself the way you are! you'll be in that body for the rest of your life! and it is true when they say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Absolutely, that's ridiculous! Everyone fawns over "tall," but runs for the hills with "big." It's as if tall people are forced to make up for their height by being skinny. Like you can only take up so much space in this world.

Happy and healthy is the only way to go – no matter what your height.

It's hard for me to find good clothes that fit because I'm just under 100 lbs, but I'm a bit short at 5'4 and half.
If I find a good pair of pants that fit, they're too short, and if I find a good length, it's too loose up top. I can hem pants, but I can't tailor it up top that well.
Hopefully I still have some room to "grow". I guess I still have a year or so until I stop getting taller.

I also have difficulty finding outfits at department stores due to my height. A mini dress end up bellow the knee. A night gown end up sweeping the floor. A jacket ends longer than it's intended. Sigh.

I would agree with this. I'm 5'8" and I'm a lot heavier than people think. My legs are super long so they appear thinner. That throws people off.
