i don't think the outfit would look half as interesting if the pants were a more traditional cut. the only thing that elevates the look is the pants.

i think they're a little too dropped in the crotch, though. i don't think dropped crotch pants should bag around the knee.

Good points quimby; the pants do give the look a fashionable, even hip-hoppish edge, but maybe the drop is a bit much. A little less might make "the pants" more tolerable to some.

This is my thinking, but then again, I've never been a fan of drop-crotch pants, so I'm biased. I love the rest of her outfit, though - the shoes, the top, and ESPECIALLY the sunglasses.

^she wore almost exact the same outfit a few pages ago but in NY
I adore her for wearing over and over the clothes she likes:heart::heart:

I like that about Taylor too (i.e., re-wearing items/outfits) - and why not!? I noticed once she was featured on a "green" website, particularly because she "recycles" her outfits and wears items of clothing she likes in different ways too. That's very appropriate now. Also, nice to see her in a photo with Sarah Rutson, since Taylor just cited her as a style icon she admires in that Refinery29 piece.

Taylor is just SO COOL! I love her style. It's so NOT de rigueur!!

I know right?
such a great outfit, love the red lips too:heart:

and about her last outfit posted her above so much going on there, no? but for some reason she actually pulls it off very well;)

Everything hangs on her...she should try something fitted for a change.

coat is CdG fall 2009

why more fitted, they DO fit they way they were meant to be...and she does it extraordinarily well.

her style is going in a slightly ridiculous direction - those ALexander Wang pants are terrible and they do look like some kind of nappy.....and its all too much with the duffel jacket, the complex top and the buckle boots. Its just overkill. She needs to tone down a bit and stick to just a couple of interesting pieces and keep the rest simpler. Also she has a very delicate face and glossy straight hair and I'm jsut not sure the hardness of some of her clothes really works for her...at least not all together.

I believe those are Alexander Wang pants with Barbara Bui shorts worn over them. The only part of the outfit I'd remove in the gray/black ensemble is the piece around her waist for a more solid line.

Personally I like Taylor in some harder edged looks precisely *because* of her delicate face and straight glossy hair - how cliche if she went for a more fem or traditional look. The juxtaposition is riskier and more exciting.

Besides it's in keeping with what she's always done in creating her looks, which is to mix in feminine pieces with edgier ones.

those are alexander wang pants, i didnt know that, too bad. i thought they were black shorts thrown over grey sweats which i really like, in fact, i love the concept since i dont like wearing short skirts/shorts over my knee. it is an ideal alternative and has great appeal to me, but i am very casual if not a bit eccentric that way. keeping my current frame of thought in mind, that's how i read whats going on above...unfortunately, the tops are overdone and its hard to see what's going on around the waist but i love the cropped boxy jacket, shorts/sweats thing. get rid of the padding in the middle and the tourniquet scarf (the ball necklace is good enough to stand alone) and that might tone it down enough.

she does seem to be taking a good impulse too far in the last picture but i love how she mixes it up.

I find the non-cliche a bit of a cliche I'm afraid! ;):flower:

It is shorts worn over pants luckyme. I am almost positive those are Barbara Bui shorts and either Wang or Rag and Bone grey pants.

I agree re: eliminating some of the padding in the midsection and that the scarf OR the necklace might be enough. And I too like how she mixes it up but perhaps she has a bit too much mixing going on in that black/gray outfit. Like the Burberry (?) duffle, the shorts/pants, the shoes, and either the scarf or necklace. But ditch the thing at the waist. Overall, it's good.
