her style is going in a slightly ridiculous direction - those ALexander Wang pants are terrible and they do look like some kind of nappy.....and its all too much with the duffel jacket, the complex top and the buckle boots. Its just overkill. She needs to tone down a bit and stick to just a couple of interesting pieces and keep the rest simpler. Also she has a very delicate face and glossy straight hair and I'm jsut not sure the hardness of some of her clothes really works for her...at least not all together.

OMG-
you took the words right out of my mouth...
so NOT a fan of the diaper look...
:ninja:

i think she is letting all this attention distract her from actually putting together a good outfit...
it's a little too 'look at me'...and trying sooo hard...
it's just not effortless anymore...
which is what made it cool in the first place...
:ermm:...

i guess it must be weird to get dressed knowing you are going to get your picture taken all the time though...
and no one gets it right every single time...
let's hope she calms down a bit...

* i think it's funny how people keep saying how much they like that she wears the same things over and over...
like---who doesn't?!?...
what do you expect - that she is going to throw them away after one wearing?
hello!--she doesn't make THAT much money...
she's an editor at a magazine...
not an heiress...
even with gifts and sample sales...
that sh*t costs a lot of $$$...
it would be criminal NOT to wear it...as much as possible!!!...
...

sorry i just dont get the diaper analogy...they are loose shorts over pants.

exactly....I think thats why a lot of these uber stylish girls (Giovanna Battaglia is the same) are just dressing up to the nines....basically, I think, because the uber-bloggers are going to post pics of them on their sites (its all a big huge self-perpetuating sycophant-fest).....

The thing is that it just lacks any nonchalance....or at the least, even the deception of nonchalance....

The crazy thing is that when a lot of the bloggers started they did post pics of these people dressed 'naturally'.....which is what was interesting...now it just looks like vanity....not so cool.

luckyme....i think its the draping around the crotch that make the pants look like a nappy. That coupled with the fact that there are two fabrics going on......in the marni ensemble you posted the shorts are less drapey and look clearly like shorts rather than a swathe of fabric.

nice pic of the baby!

 what's happened to this thread?
a day of absence and I'm coming back to find baby bums and aliens...

well...naked...let it not be said that we take fashion too seriously around these parts....

...

ok ok...
that was a fun little detour ...

and technically--all on topic...
well- until we got to the sleestack bit...

^_^...

Taylor doesn't "dress up to the nines" though; she wears drop crotch fatigues or layers shorts over sweatpants. LOL. She's the antithesis, in some ways, of, say, Del Russo.

softgrey -- As for re-wearing things, well, of course many do. But then again, not a lot of them wear the *exact same outfit* more than once, even if it rocks. ^_^ On this thread, for example, Taylor was criticized for using the same Chanel bag too much (someone opined that she should "retire" it).

Part of fashion is newness, so when editors, models, whomever, re-wear outfits *knowing* they'll be photographed in it more than once, it's refreshing as it goes against the expectation of newness all the time.

Taylor wore the same opening ceremony skirt, rick owens jacket and over the knee boots in the exact same way in both NYC and Paris. You don't see that a lot, or I don't anyhow. Maybe the "repeat" photos just aren't posted.

It's true what you are saying though about the endless photo-taking and the vanity involved; however, I find her style to be eclectic and not about "look at me," or maybe I am missing something. Same with Lanphear; she wears the same kind of thing and doesn't seem to do it to draw attention, unlike some editors, who seem to really go for a flashier, "look at me" style.

I just don't see her style as ridiculous or cliche.

Some closer images of the CdG coat & outfit (on the way to Chloe show)

I was the one who said that I appreciate that she often wears the same clothes again and no I don't think that she trows her clothes away after one wearing:rolleyes:
Heiress or not, making loads of money or not I'm sure her closet is full of very nice clothes and I just wanted to point out that I like her for wearing over and over again her fav pieces, because I'm sure she would have enough clothes to have everyday during fashion a different outfit, no?
but whatever, she just needs to get rid of the diapers now:lol:

I love what Taylor wears, but gosh she looks old in #480!

Yes, I noticed her skin looked kind of dry in those photos. ;) It was cold in Paris so maybe that contributed. But does anyone know how old she is? I have no idea. I am assuming, say, early-mid 30s?
