Ok ... it isn't "new" news ... but it is big news and I don't think you've shared it here (outside of the Mod Squad forums).

Our own .francesca is a Surface Magazine's Avant Gaurdian winner this past year!!!! It's one of the most prestigious awards for up and coming photographers and they get a whole editorial spread in the "Avant Guardian" issue. Thousands compete for this every year. Very impressive for a little girl from Halifax! Actually, very impressive for any photographer.

Miss Tallone your work stands out truly! Intelligent stuff in there. If I get a chance I'd love to purchase the magazine, I believe it's an old issue so it will be hard to find. I'd love to send you some of my work for critique, if you have time or will!

"little girl from halifax" aww bette you're so sweet! while it's true i'm quite small, i'm actually from california. i've been in halifax for almost 3 years but i'm VERY ready to move, especially after winning the avant guardian. NYC, here i come!

i guess i should have said something but estella mare did start a thread about all the winners here. i'm kind of shy!

Yeah ...I just found out that you are really a California girl. I was speaking to Softie yesterday and she said you two might test together when you get to NY. I told her that I was jealous.

if you want to get technical - i'm not even a real california girl! born in ohio, grew up in boston and later moved to california. but that's another story!

i'm SUPER excited to test with softgrey - i'll be sure to post images here when i get them.

perfectperfect, do you have any images on your flickr that are fashion-related? i'm seeing a lot of great images of animals, but considering that this thread is for fashion work, why don't you post in "our photography" and show us some fashion work when you break into it? i like your style - i'd be really interested to see what you do with fashion.

I've seen the second to last one before (model leaning on white wall)... somewhare. Perhaps the makeup artist posted it in another forum that I frequent ... who did the makeup? I might know her.
