^ its so true, some high-end salons are really 'their way or the highway'. they have their style and way of doing things and even if you bring in a damn picture they will do whatever. they should really say they wont do it if they wont. and here you are in the salon for freakin HOURS and you really cant tell what it will look like till you are done! and you still have pay for it
im always polite with HDs and people in general especially those working in customer service because i work in customer service as well so i know the drill. working in c.s. helped me learn how to get my point across without being rude or too aggressive. i know when customers are too demanding for sh*t it just makes me want to put them on the back burner because they need to not be so rude! anyway i really feel its important to talk to HDs through the whole process, dont be afraid to ask them 'why are you doing that?' or 'so what will that piece look like when its finished' etc. i use the hours and hours i spend in the chair every month to talk to them about my likes and dislikes in hair and other stuff of course... they share their horror stories with me too! once upon a time they werent hairdressers and used to play around with DIY stuff
my HD said she tried to go pink temporarily for a school dance but it wouldnt wash out so her mom had to bring to her a salon to bring it back to blonde!
