The Business of Magazines

If this photo is new, she still amazing. Beautiful just not young , but very beautiful.
Anyone can post the complete article and pics when available?

It's just been posted  but honestly I am surprised Linda didn't get an offer from any Vogue magazine around the world for her comeback??? I mean what?

Vogue is probably not in the habit of paying their cover stars large sums of money. People Magazine is. So she may have gotten some offers. But now that she has come out of hiding so to speak, I’m sure a Vogue cover is a possibility. It would be wonderful to see her shot by Meisel for British Vogue with a reprint in Vogue Italia.

Linda's People interview quotes Anna Wintour (though I don't know whether the quote was exclusive) and I wouldn't be surprised to see Linda on the cover of US Vogue. But quite frankly, I hope Edward books her for a long awaited Meisel reunion instead. I don't wanna have to pay $20 for an american pamphlet with nothing to look at aside from the cover story, when I can get British Vogue for half the price and double the page count!

Allure's new editor in chief is Jessica Cruel. Her first published byline in print appeared in 2018. She does not have much experience in print. Previously she only wrote/edited for digital only publications Popsugar etc.

This could mean the publishers intend to kill the print edition of allure very quickly.

What does this mean?

Nice for Imaan and Mica!!! Their covers were beautiful. And Isabelle did it well too.

Do we know what's the current status of Vogue Ukraine? Surely it's halting production for a while?

Obviously a fashion magazine is not remotely the most important thing at the moment, but I was just thinking It would be quite remarkable if other editions would step in and help them publish something, like an special edition... it would be an iconic issue for sure.

The last thing Ukraine needs at the moment is seeing pages of overpriced tat being promoted in their name when people no longer even have a roof over their head, and body positivity takes on an entirely different meaning when there are bodies lying in the street. But I'm sure there are people sitting comfortably in their offices wondering how they can monetise show their concern for the situation while fretting how their previous connections with certain affluent people will look on social media.

But it'll all be for charity, so nobody can criticise it, or scrutinise it to see where the money is actually going and how many people will be taking their share of it, before 10% of the funds finally reach the people who really need it.

And how fast russian magazines will die in time of all big advertisers leaving country

I'm a little late to this but I'm so happy for Imaan! Although her issue was the two-month one it was a great cover and content overall. I'm surprised also for Mica, didn't know she could sell that well. Quinn's flopped for a march issue.

Condé Nast suspends publishing operations in Russia

In a memo to Condé Nast's global staff, CEO Roger Lynch today announced the company is suspending its publishing operations in Condé Nast Russia.

Dear all,

As I stated in my note last week, we continue to be shocked and horrified by the senseless violence and tragic humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. With journalists and editorial teams around the world, it is paramount that we are able to produce our content without risk to our staff’s security and safety. Recently, the Russian government passed new censorship laws that now make it impossible for us to do so.

To that end, we have decided to suspend all of our publishing operations with Condé Nast Russia at this time.

Our humanitarian support for the people of Ukraine continues and I encourage you to participate in our company match program with the International Committee of the Red Cross. I’m reminded in times like these that there is no greater mission than the one we have now – to continue serving our audiences with trusted information and compelling journalism.

My best,

Roger

So Vogue Russia is done? Putin will be there for years, seems there's no turning back.
