i love love love this look the way it's described in this thread. but on wikipedia it says this:
"A Chelsea girl (also Chelsea, skinhead girl, or skingirl) is a girl or woman who is part of the skinhead subculture. The term refers to her hairstyle, which entails shaving the crown and occiput of her head and leaving the front, back and often the sides as fringes. The hairstyle can also be called a feather cut.
Although more common in America than in the UK, the term originates from the fact that it was a style first commonly seen on the Kings Road, in Chelsea, London, England. The Kings Road from the 1960s until the mid-Eighties was widely known as a haunt for punks, mods, skinheads, etc. The subsequent "gentrification" of the area around the King's Road has left only one monument to these times: Ad-Hoc, a clothes shop."

i love all the pics in this thread though. if that's what the 'chelsea girl style' is then i love it. if it is what wikipedia says then... it's not really my thing.
I think that Skinheads and Chelsea girls are from the same generation, but i don't think they are the same thing.
IMO Chelsea girl is more Mod, and Mary Quant. You know?
Skinheads, like it says in your Wickipedia reference, are found more commenly in America, and Chelsea Girl is more British.
So I don't think that they are the same at all.

I read through this thread but I have to admit that I didn't get it 100%...what exactly makes a Chelsea-girl-look ? Sorry for asking but I somehow don't get it....
I think Chelsea Girl is more of a feeling, the way you wear your clothes. But it is also some specific items of clothing that you wear. Like knit dresses, some skinny jeans, skinny scarves, baker boy hats, kohl eyeliner, Slouchy boots. You know?
Do you have any more questions that I might be able to answer, I hope I answered this one for you.
