The Devil Wears Prada (2006 Movie)

Its not coming out in England until October and there is no scheduled release date for New Zealand or Australia. WHY. This just encourages pirating. I would like to legitimately watch this film but you know what, if it isn't going to be released here until next year, perhaps never at all, then i'm not going to support a DVD release, pay import fees and support a film that ignored the country i'm living in.

I actually liked the movie better than the book (which is almost never the case!). I don't think you NEED to read the book, but its fun to compare.

just a correction, the scheduled release date in Australia (according to the Hoyts website) is Sept 28- I cant wait to see it!!

I have to agree. The story is great and very funny. But the book is not very well written.

The movie closely follows the book. I'd say see the movie and then read the book if you want.

i saw the movie last night. i loved the glasses an italian runway worker is wearing during the beginning. and i love the calvin klien olive jersey dress.

was the writer potential love interest in the book? i cant remember.

I think so.

I think that relationship played out true to the book, if I remember correctly.

Thats good to know , cause i really dont have time to read the book before the movie comes out , so thats good.. i cant wait to see it !!

finally saw the move yesterday, it is now without a dout my favorite movie of all time, it was almost hard to pat attention to the story because i was eyeing the fashion so hard, now i want to go out and find the book

^ i heard the book isn't as good and not very close to the film...not sure though I haven't read it but that's what I heard from others

she looks kind of um ...er ghetto fabulous in this pic Miranda was supposed to be a clean cut upper class brit snob.... im not entirely liking the styling - but i guess if the movie was aimed at an audience that was a bit older it may be more of a reflection of what people in VOGUE and similar magazines actually wear - and it isnt this :P

Patricia Field phoned my boss at work yesterday and dumb old me didn't reallize it was THE Patricia Field. I was so tired and a little grumpy/monotone on the phone with her ... oops!

.....

i watched the movie 2 days ago and i have to say that i would never make a decision to drop out the dream job... and i perfer the blonde writer to andy's boyfriend... than, i am a b*tch... but, the glamour, and clothes and shoes shoes shoes.... all the runing on high hills reminded me of carrie bradshaw and sex and the city...

but it is a nice movie, like a fairytail, it makes u laugh and u get to see great clothes... btw... is it just me or gisele looks like she is twice her age???

ugh gisele's husky voice is just sooo unappealing. i think she looked older because she was in conservative clothes with her hair pulled back (and glasses if i remember correctly) as opposed to all the victoria's secret lingerie and loose hair that we're used to her in.

as much as I would love to say I love it, I cant, I simply watch it again and again simply because movies of this unique genre are so few and far between, sighz
