'The Price is Right' launches its first-ever search for a male model

Have you always wanted to show off flashy cars and cozy new living room sets on national television? The Price is Right may be famous for Bob Barker (and now Drew Carey)’s lovely ladies, but now The Price is Right is holding a contest to find its first male model.
In the game show’s nearly 40-year history, the prizes have almost always been displayed by female models, but now one guy will get to try out the gig for a week on the CBS show, which is currently hosted by Drew Carey.
CBS has announced that the search for a male model will air as a five-episode web series on The Price is Right‘s official website and on its YouTube channel in late September. An open casting call will be held in Los Angeles on Thursday, Aug. 30, when contestants will be judged on “qualities such as their verbal skills, posing and ability to properly showcase a product,” a release revealed. The producers will be the judges, along with the show’s female models.
Viewers will pick the ultimate winner by voting online through Oct. 4 at Priceisright.com.

IMG’S MALE ORDER: For the first time in five years, IMG Models is back in the business of representing men.

Senior vice president and managing director Ivan Bart has lined up Kevin Apana and Greg Chan to help him build the division. Both are industry veterans and worked at Wilhelmina until February. The new hires now report to Bart.

The Hawaiian-born Apana started his career at IMG Models, where he managed Tyson Ballou, among others.

With Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss and Gisele Bündchen among its female roster, IMG Models has the shingle out to try to attract male models of comparable caliber. Bart said, “As a leader in the modeling industry, we felt the time was right to relaunch our men’s division.”

Thats really great news. I always knew that IMG always had the big names for female models so Im guessing they'll represent Clement, Simon N., Sean, Simone, Benjamin, etc. but Im also wondering what kinda of new faces they'll scout. its all pretty exciting

Yeah! That's great news. I knew they represented men before because I saw them in an old ANTMS show and thought it would be great if they came back to representing male models. I wonder if they're gonna build a power empire representing only top models as they do with females

^ that is great news! I'm wondering to what models will jump ship to IMG, definitely some of the bigger names to match the caliber of their women's board. IMG has done great things for their ladies so its good to know the men will be taken care off. Of course all the new faces they will scout will be amazing, and faces to watch.
