^I think they're dealing with everything from Paris but it could have changed since... it was like that, at least during the last fashion week

i know that they don't like their girls to be placed in london or germany but i didn't know that they would be making it official.

btw, i hear that big things are happening at nathalie.

yes, it still like that. clever way to do even if it has some limitation. But anyway it would not be very easy for an agency like Viva to open in London, as to work seriously in London needs really some good commercial models in the board, and it is not exactly Viva's field.

^I think that's clever too. I know one of my friend who's agent in London is always searching for good commercial models besides their high fashion new faces... and needs to keep a good balance between both. And the other thing that might sound clever as well in that kind of strategy is that all the Viva girls are kept together in the same package without getting lost among the others in London agencies...

DNA opens their own milan office very soon, they're scouting hard in europe these weeks, to launch a good board of new faces at their launch there.

That's really exciting since DNA is my favourite agency and I find that their new faces are sublime yet underrated.

Could anyone tell me the song played on Way Model Management's website?

^Oh yes, please, I'd love to know the name of this song too !

I just bought a new computer and have got the net up and running... but when I visit any of the Women/Supreme/Name websites, I can't get the content (model board/profiles) to load. I get the background and bottom menu, but when I choose a link from the menu, nothing shows.

Is there something other than Flash that I should have installed? anyone know?

It happens to me also, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't or it takes hours while downloading.

We should have a thread for critiques of agency websites. Some of them are so bad, for an industry based on appearance.

I use Firefox and on Supreme's web site the bottom row of model cards overlap with the bottom menu. Also, once you have picked a page, the page number does not stay highlighted to show you the current page number.

In general, you should always be able to proceed on task, and never have to wait for the graphics to finish on a web page. That gets old fast.

Still, Supreme stands out. Some of the agencies look like they were designed by someone following the what-not-to-do layout guide.

I have another question:
At models.com there is a list of agencies worldwide. Some are listed as "Participating Agencies", does that mean models.com verified them?

it means that they pay for sponsership basically.

Beatrice had some shifty business in the past as well...if Im not mistaken.
WOW.

what sort of shifty business? i was under the impression, from a number of agencies worldwide, that Beatrice was one of the only ones in Milan not to succumb to the "mafia" styles of other agencies in Milan and hence the lady who owned it previously, Beatrice, actually had run ins with bad ppl by trying to stay straight.

Beatrice, even though they had a number of top 50 girls for some time, were never members on models.com, which further cements the "paying for sponsorship" and not wanting to have any part of it. if that makes sense?

I wondered if they're the agency that they're referring to in previous posts about an agency trying to do an IMG type move? cos im pretty sure that actor guy who bought the agency wants to turn it into something like that? like with sports stars and other management areas other than just modelling.

Being listed or not at models.com (or anywhere else online) doesn't mean anything. There is just no reliable and up-to-date list of good or bad agencies.

Ranking and rating agencies is tricky and it's even more problematic to talk about details publicly. Depending on whom you ask you can get very different answers. An agency is always supposed to be bad if you ask a girl who isn't successful. While there is some general consent about the majors, as said, it becomes very difficult to talk about details publicly, especially also those who know aren't necessarily willing to talk about, it's a small world and you never know which hand will feed you tomorrow...
Things can also change very quickly, sometimes a single person who leaves can make a huge difference.

Further, as some mentioned it earlier in this thread, when it comes to aspiring models there's no generic answer simply because it depends on each girl's potential. Decisions are individual, even for girls of the same board of the same agency.
Different agencies can be focused on differenty markets and therefore their requirements will not only vary between agencies but they also change with time because what's in demand today may be outdated tomorrow.
