The Official Harry Potter Thread

i also fell in love with the soundtrack, the first time around it didn't impress me at all, save for a few moments, but it's grown on me and i LOVE it:heart:

I love Alexandre Desplat's score for Part II. "A New Beginning" and "Lily's Theme" gets me every time.

"courtyard apocalypse" is my fave atm, that scene is also one of my faves of the movie

that's such a stupid and easily avoidable mistake
i don't know what they were thinking, especially since that phrase was said a million times in every single movie

^ yea its enjoys me too, especially since theres such a noticeable difference

my favorite song from the movie was "statues", i get chills listening to it and i also loved the scene they used the song for.

Why did Harry Potter have to end? Anyway, it was the best 10 years of my life & it's just sad to let it go esp when you grew up with it... :(

Yeah, I noticed her brown eyes the third time I saw the movie.
The little actress they cast is great, but I agree couldn't they have digitally given her blue eyes?

^Or even contacts? Who knows maybe her eyes magically changed color later on in life. lol

They should've given the actress blue colour contacts. That was an easily avoidable mistake. Especially when it is mentioned so many times throughout the books/movies.

wait, do I spy Percy (or actor who played him before) in one of those last photos from the set or are my eyes playing tricks? I did not see him in the film. just another reason to go see it again. lol to spy all those things I might have missed.
I am so happy that this Film broke so many records! it was so long over due and so very well deserved! the quality of all the films, the acting, the details, the care and love of everyone involved, I just hope that they can hold on to the tittle for a while or at least that is not broken by something as half- as* filmed as twilight.
I loved the film so much, the only things I would have liked to seen different (even though they were done so well) would be the Hermoine/Ron kiss, I wanted Harry there, to deliver that line " is this the moment?" or what he says in the book, I just loved that when I read it, its so like, finally! but really now? it would have been funny to see, and given a bit of humor to the last part, I think it needed it sometimes. The other part was Voldemort's death, I wish the body wouldn't have just disintegrated (Bellatrix's either) it would have been more final to me to have his body injured and feebly lying on the ground, to show this huge evil reduced to a shell, and while the scene with just the two of them was breathtaking, I would have liked everyone around them like in the book. all in all though it was an incredible experience and joy watching the film.

^I didn't notice Percy until the 3rd time I saw the film.
He's standing behind Mr. Weasley during the scene when Voldemort is giving his triumphant speech after Harry is dead.
Also, I thought the Ron/Hermione kiss could have been done better too. Although, I see why they wanted to get it out of the way.

An update on the film, it's earned $835 million worldwide since it was released 2 weeks ago.
It's on track to be the first Potter film to cross the billion dollar mark. :D
In terms of money the films rank thus follows:

SS: $974.8 mil
DH 1: $955.4 mil
OOTP: $939.9
HBP: $934.4
GOF: $896.9
COS: $879 mil
POA: $796.7 mil

Warner Bros is probably weeping in their boots that this series is over. :)

i noticed percy the first time but i did they ever mention in the movies how percy left the family and sided with the ministry? i dont think people who didnt read the books would have caught percy being there.

Harry Potter is now number 2 in box office this weekend, because of Captain America, which is rather shocking. But then I started to think that almost everybody saw it on the first week and some people, that havent seen it are waiting till the movies are emptier to go see it.

^ I also think it's because anyone can go and see captain america but not everyone can go see Harry potter and be able to understand it.

^And that's why I keep loosing faith in our people because no one wants to see a movie with a "complex plot" they would rather not think while watching a movie. Which is a shame because Harry Potter has great little details that you miss the first time around but make each viewing experience afterwards all the more special.

I couldn't agree with you more! I feel harry Potter is a story that simply knows no age, time or limit, and while most think it's just a children's book and it did start that way, for me it goes so much beyond that, it's a classic! It's a story that's going to withstand time because it contains such a beautiful message and such a captivating world, it's a story I'll pass to my children (if I have them lol) and hopefully they'll pass it to their children.
I understand that a lot of people only wanted to see the movies for the effects, etc but sometimes they're so easy to pass it up before realizing what a beautiful message the movies and books also contain.
I think I might see it again on July 31, Harry's birthday, someone mentioned it in this thread and now they've inspired me.^_^

^^To be fair, I wouldn't expect non-fans to go for a second viewing in the theatre. I've never gone for a second in-theatre viewing of a non-HP film, regardless of whether or not it makes me think.

Well considering that a person will have had to watch all 7 previous films prior to this one the second weekend box office amount is still pretty good
