Topshop, UK

^^^ Ewww...no, Primark!?

I don't care what anyone says about that place - I have been in there twice and all I see are chavs' and cheap/tackly clothing made from ugly material that feels awful against the skin.

Both times I have been I have heard individuals say about e.g. coats, dresses - "oooh that's beautiful" and "oooh ain't that gorgeous!"...erm, no it is not. The material feels awful, the cut is terrible, it is badly made and it looks cheap because it is cheap - buy cheap, buy twice.

Whereabouts is the Primark going to be? Was there the other day, but didn't say anywhere that mentioned it.

However, I did go in Mango and I was so shocked - normally hate that place, but have some nice dresses in. But saying that they have a dress in that they are charging £40 for, but George (ASDA!!!) has the EXACT same one in for £20 (it was advertised in Grazia) and is a rip off from Versace.

Your saying that Primark has bad quality clothing, that you think it looks cheap and feels terrible against the skin yet couldn't the exactly the same be said for Asda, chavs and all??

I used to adore Topshop and still think that some of the design ideas are lovely, however its far too expensive for what it is, cheap poor quality clothing that everybody else is going to have. Having said that i love the jewellary in topshop except that after a few wears it will go that horrid cheap jewellary bronze colour, yuck.

Topshop jeans are also terrible, i bought a pair of black/grey skinnies in there just over a year ago and they have streched around the waist like mad. I havent lost or gained any weight in this time either, they are absolutely massive across my tummy that when i wear a belt with them the fabric around my stomach folds. Great. I know i shouldnt expect them to last forever seeming as they came from a high street store but this is just silly.

The shoes seem to be the only quality items left.

I actually find George (Asda) clothing to be much better quality, the same quality as Topshop in fact.

Primark is awful, absolutely awful! There is no inspiration within their designs, they feel awful to touch and quite often they look pretty darn ugly.

As I mentioned, George@Asda sells the same products that other companies sell like Mango and Topshop and so there products are of a much higher quality compared to Primark.

It is only my opinion, do not take it personally! :flower:

Its ok sweetie, you did not offend me! :flower:

I guess some individuals like Primark, some don't - could be the same for Asda, although Asda are doing some really nice shift dresses for their summer collection that have been shown in magazines like Grazia, Elle and Marie Claire. The white smock dress looks really lovely!

I think Topshop quality is fine for high street. I bought a jacket from there and i think it's really good. It's thick and feels like it's not going to fall apart anytime soon. In comparison to this new look jacket i have, it feels expensive.

I am preferring Zara these days, especially for their gorgeous summer dresses. I am loving Zara's bright yellow shift dress and they classic and gorgeous black big puff romantic sleeve dress (they also have it in white) - very Chloe!
I prefer Zara too. In fact Topshop has gone downhill regarding the quality. Zara is imo way better both for quality and design.

^ i have that jacket too, it looks exactly the same as the TS for 1/4 of the price! hehe, my b/f got into loads of trouble recently, he works for ts when he isn't at uni and one of his bosses heard him telling a customer who was looking at that jacket that they could get the same one's in primark

Shocking!! But I'm not surprised... I remember seeing two same exactly items both in TS and HM (cheaper here). I checked the label, guess what... Manufactured in the same place. Who's taking the pxxxx?? :D

^^ Oxford Circus, baby!

thanks! btw: love your blog ;)

ok, this doesn't concern topshop but it does concern LONDON, do you guys have any idea where I can find these shoe-boots of the brand Carvela?

http://tinyurl.com/253hlx

the shoes this girl has in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6StWfWOTO4&eurl

Have you seen them around in shops in london?
do you know where is the biggest Carvela shoe store?
Is there one in the Oxford Circus area?
Thanks again for the help!

Topshop Oxford circus currently has a sale in certain sections. I picked up a pair of the fasten buckle boots in russet. If anyone is looking to buy from the OFFICE concession, you can use a promo code on the office WEBSITE to get 25% off. The code is ELLE

Does anyone from the US have the same trouble checking out on topshop.com when it comes to contact number? It says it's invalid.

I get this no matter what I type:
CMN0207E The value of the parameter "Contact Number" is not correct.

^ You need to enter your number sans area code, or else it will require a British one. :)
