Topshop, UK

I really want that blazer too but can't for the life of me find it anywhere. I've contacted Topshop about it and will ring the Oxford Circus store tomorrow to see if they have any in :)

great! could you please tell me what they say?!i dont understand why they'd put the pics in the newsletter if it is sold out O.o

^ Of course I can! I don't understand why they'd put it on the newsletter if it was sold out either, it's was advertised in the 'Style' magazine that's included in the Sunday Times newspaper today so I can't believe they'd put that in there if it's not available anywhere! According to them it's only £60 so it's a brilliant price too considering how lovely it looks :woot:

^ Ive seen the navy version of it in quite a few branches but never the red one. Topshop have a habit of showing samples in their adverts that never get manufactured or at least they dont up exactly as advertised once they get to the shops.

^ Oh I'd be quite interested in seeing it in navy too so thanks very much for the heads up!! :D Karma for you!

yes!! I am undecided between exactly those two coats... you are my hero!! thanks:flower:

i am so not ur hero. :( i received the coats (finally!) this week and have already returned them. they looked very baggy on me - definitely needed to go one size down. the grey bicolor preen coat i would say looks good on a tall skinny person. on me it did not look proportional at all. did u end up ordering this one at all?

I've just received an email following up on the red blazer and apparently they advertise items like that a month before they're actually available so they said it should be out in November. Hope this helps and thanks shopping247 for the update on the navy blazer!

^ that's good news! thank u! :flower:

i think i would like to have the red one, since i already have a navy pinstripe blazer in my wardrobe.

nope... getting a proxy + risk it might not fit me and not being able to send it back is putting me off ordering stuff!!!

sure!
a proxy, in this case, is a person who can 'shop' for you(order stuff online or buy stuff in store) in another country... usually they ask for a 10% fee for the trouble they went through to find your item. kinda what susie_bubble does in the UK:flower:

thanks!! i thought it was something you could do through the computer ;(

it is! I think a proxy is some kind of server that forwards requests to other servers.... but now I'm going off topic:lol:

Peter Jensen, Ashish and Markus Lupfer for Topshop will be launched on November 5th. Prices start from £60.

Topshop are also reported to be launching a cosmetics range in the future.

Topshop's new New York address will be 478 Broadway, Soho :flower:

the problem is I don't think topshop will ever really translate into the American market. By the time you factor in currency conversion and duties, it's not as 'cheap' as it is in the UK and lately I've been feeling like they aren't really that fashion forward anyway....

Its a good idea to set up their flagship store in America's fashion capital because, with perhaps the exception of LA, I cant see it being as phenomanally successful as it is here in the UK elsewehere in the USA. Topshop bridges the gap between fast cheap fashion and the higher end of the highstreet. Its famous for copying runway looks quickly and getting them into the shop just as fast. I dont think topshop is nearly as cheap as it used to be but really, if I want to get something that is bang on trend but will last a few season then I always head to Topshop. If you like to do high-low mix n match fashion then again, Topshop is pretty great for basics.

The problem for the proposed US crossover will be the price point. Unless it can match the UK prices then I cant see it being a huge success.

I went to the Oxford Circus store yesterday and spent the best part of an hour there but i didnt buy a single thing. Maybe it was the wrong time to go looking for day wear when its Christmas just round there corner [how many silky, sheer and embelished dresses and tops can one store have?!] but really I was shocked that there wasnt at least one thing I really wanted. Well actually, I lie. there was a really fab dress with stars all over it but at £65 I think it is a bit too much for a Topshop dress that Ill probably not get a lot of wear out of :( hopefully Mr Claus will pop it in my stocking...

yeah i agree topshop prices really have gone up. Their basics are still super cheap (ten quid for a shirt) but the more 'on trend' things have gone up in price and i don't think the quality really justifies it. they do have good offerings but like you i went in there several times and never bought a thing but i do find oxford circus a bit off putting just because of all the people. I prefer the smaller topshops.
