GROSS! the make up is so distracting it overshadows the actual content of the show! At the end of the day it's not about the set or the makeup and props its about the clothes! you have to strike a balance betwwen styling and content!

Katie England's still doing their styling, right? She always used to do it anyway.
There's just a whole lot of tragic going on with that styling. The same look and feel could have easily been achieved without making the girls look like actual tramps.

A sort of into the wild/scout theme going on. If you can look past the gimmicks, the head gear and the hideous socks there are some great pieces here. The fur waist coat and stone coloured rag cape are amazing. The coats are defiantly the high point. When you remember this is a collection for a high street shop and is aimed at a younger demographic it really is innovative and interesting collection.

The first part seems to be the strongest. I think the coats and jackets are just wonderful, perhaps a bit too literal on the whole 'wild thing' theme, but I still think they're great and in general, the entire show seems to have more interesting staples in comparison with Unique's previous collections, which were nothing more than random pieces picked up from a high-end store's floor and styled cleverly just for the sake of having a show in a hyped event like fashion week is.. this is still kind of.. funny, but more thought through and definitely less mundane than other long-time showings we saw last week in NYC.

.I think the shock of his death is causing a lot of our younger members to see McQueen in every show, I've been finding comparisons to him in just about every thread and the truth is, McQueen was an extraordinary designer and show maker but he was not particularly ground-breaking, he did not invented prints or fur or shoes or wildness or roses or bodysuits or big platforms and in fact, McQueen did take a lot of references (sometimes blatantly so, esp. in his last collections) from other designers.. it'll be a hard thing for people to assimilate considering the impact McQueen's death has but, the sooner the better so we can all appreciate his work for what it actually was.

Overall, it's alright. I've seen better from the Unique label. Plus, some looks seriously could've used some editing...they just end up looking like too much onto one thing.
I see it too! Probably because McQueen used to take some animalistic elements in his collections, like in FW 06, SS 08, SS 09 and SS 10, perhaps more previous collections. But this was taken too literally, even if it wasn't a McQueen reference. It's very distracting. The whole "in the forest" theme, with the runway and the animal apparelDoes no one see the McQueen tribute?
