This look isn't even terribly popular where I am, but my experience a few weeks ago convinced me that it simply must die: I was in Paris and happened to be in the same building that had been rented by Lancome for some sort of convention. All of the attendees were young British women, and all ~200 of them (I mean just about every last one) were dressed in some combination of: fur vest/puffy vest/furry parka/puffy parka, worn over jeans tucked into furry boots/suede boots/pirate boots/whatever boots. About 50% of them topped off the look with a newsboy cap. I thought I'd stumbled into a hall of mirrors when I saw them all milling about...Later that day I was walking through the neighborhood when they'd apparently all taken a break for lunch and split off into groups of 25, because at every block I'd run smack into a roving pack of fur-and-denim-clad British girls. I'm still kicking myself for not bringing my camera.
hotpinky said:i like a lot of trends just fine... it's the OVERSATURATION that i hate-- when everyone and their dog has the trend, and keeps on wearing it. a year ago i did a 'trend board' for a class of mine, predicting a big trend and i choose to do tweed in women's wear. i LOVED tweed then... it was just starting to appear in the magazines, but not on the racks.
now, tweed is supposedly the next big thing for fall and i'm so over it already, even though i haven't seen anyone around here wearing it.
also ponchos-- i liked them in the spring, but now that even JC Penny's has them in their ads, they make me puke.
it's how fashion is for most of us who are innovators and fashion leaders: we like what we've got until it becomes accesable to the rest of the population.

It is a ring worn in your middle finger, where two thin chains are attached down to your wrist and connect there with a bracelet.
It may have been an ethnic piece of jewellery in Yemen or so 2000 years ago, but nowadays those who wear it belong to the underworld in every sense (like those horrible fish which live in deep sea water and never see any light).![]()
