I am so ovah ladylike. I'm nostalgic for speed chic. I'm turning to Jill Sander and Calvin Klein for comfort, although Klein's colors are a little on the drab side.

The Sienna Miller trendy London-girl streetwear look. This look isn't even terribly popular where I am, but my experience a few weeks ago convinced me that it simply must die: I was in Paris and happened to be in the same building that had been rented by Lancome for some sort of convention. All of the attendees were young British women, and all ~200 of them (I mean just about every last one) were dressed in some combination of: fur vest/puffy vest/furry parka/puffy parka, worn over jeans tucked into furry boots/suede boots/pirate boots/whatever boots. About 50% of them topped off the look with a newsboy cap. I thought I'd stumbled into a hall of mirrors when I saw them all milling about...Later that day I was walking through the neighborhood when they'd apparently all taken a break for lunch and split off into groups of 25, because at every block I'd run smack into a roving pack of fur-and-denim-clad British girls. I'm still kicking myself for not bringing my camera.

Wow..you might as well have been on oxford street...that's pretty much what it is there...I just don't get why some girls don't realise that if they're not er, how do i put it, svelte, they should not try the layered look with the gilet et al. As for me, I had to ditch my rabbit fur gilet a year and a half ago when sienna became over popular, I just can't bring myself to wear it anymore. I'm keeping it for when I have a little girl though, (which won't be anytime soon...I'm only 21) maybe it'll be in again in a few years, and she can say she has a vintage gilet-and not the tacky new look kind.

I agree with Spike413. Money doesnt equal style, most of them have stylists anyways so I dont get it. Im sick of stars who have their names on labels but dont wear the stuff their label puts out! If its not good enough for you, its not good enough for me. I am also over the whole low rise jean..especially for the high school seniors and college freshmen who think your stomach is "supposed" to hang over the top of them thanks to Britney Spears.

i like a lot of trends just fine... it's the OVERSATURATION that i hate-- when everyone and their dog has the trend, and keeps on wearing it. a year ago i did a 'trend board' for a class of mine, predicting a big trend and i choose to do tweed in women's wear. i LOVED tweed then... it was just starting to appear in the magazines, but not on the racks.

now, tweed is supposedly the next big thing for fall and i'm so over it already, even though i haven't seen anyone around here wearing it.

also ponchos-- i liked them in the spring, but now that even JC Penny's has them in their ads, they make me puke.

it's how fashion is for most of us who are innovators and fashion leaders: we like what we've got until it becomes accesable to the rest of the population.

Yeah, because God forbid if you look like a normal person!

I hardly doubt anybody here is a "leader." Pretending to be better than the real world doesn't make it so. Sorry if all the working-class slobs are messing up your style!

The Sienna look- everyine's doing it!! But you need a certain personality to suit it, don't ya?? Ya kust look like a bit of a poser :) Very fake

Im sooo sick of Juicy!!! that and sweat suits.
Von Dutch was out before it started but some people insist on wearing tank tops and trucker hats.
IM SO OVER TRUCKER HATS!!

The really cheap-looking metallic stuff. (I like the nice metallics, though.)

Agreed. I especially hate seeing it on the Melie Bianco bag. It looks so cheap.

Ponchos, but I've always hated them. Half the people who wear them wear it so badly that that image just stuck.

ha ha Ponchos are going to be the garment from H*ll. Its going to be one of those trends that never goes away like those tops and dresses with the gathering at the top..I dont know the name for it but Juicy made it popular and I could just scream when I see people still wearing it

Oh God. Ponchos:yuk:. I don't see what some people's fascination with them are, they do NOTHING for you.

Definitely low waisted jeans (that are too tight around the waist) worn with "too short" tight t-shirts where a girl's back fat squeezes out. Who wants to see that? Get a longer shirt....get some looser jeans....

This is not a trend, its a "thing", a horrible piece of jewellery so trashy that words fail me:

It is a ring worn in your middle finger, where two thin chains are attached down to your wrist and connect there with a bracelet.

It may have been an ethnic piece of jewellery in Yemen or so 2000 years ago, but nowadays those who wear it belong to the underworld in every sense (like those horrible fish which live in deep sea water and never see any light). :yuk:

I believe that's called a slave bracelet.

I think the Sienna Miller thing has gone far enough. I'm going to Oxford street today and I swear if I see ANOTHER sienna-clone I am going to go insane....

I'm sick and tired of people claiming insert trend here is soooo over...
This is exactly why I refuse to follow "trends." Classy is always classy. And some "trends" never looked good in the first place. Really, this thread can be boiled down to a few basic "Don’ts:"
Don't wear skimpy clothes if you don't have the body for it
No kidding. This has never looked good - ever.

Don't overdose on logos
Again. This is never appropriate.

Don't wear/carry fake designer goods
Once again, this has never been acceptable.

I will never understand why the nouveau riche insist on sporting "cutting edge" crap, only to deny and ridicule it six months down the road.

i dont like tweed usless its chanel :innocent:

i dont like non pretty people wearing lacoste shoes
