Trends You Are Sick Of #1

i'm sick of the navy blue/black combination trend. no matter what anyone says, i still can't accept those colors together.

i really don't get how jeans tucked into boots is a trend? and how someone can be annoyed at it..

Well, it's a mainstay by now, and I don't think of it as a trend. It was popular a few decades ago, and came back in full force around 5-6 years ago. But during the 90's, people rarely wore their boots over jeans/pants. Bootcut was the popular style, and that implies a cut that goes over the boots, not vice versa, right? I was fascinated by the goths/darkwavers, and I remember that they used to dye their straight-leg or boot-cut jeans black and sew them tighter around the calf and ankle, in order to wear their boots over them. That's how hard it was to find skinny jeans. So in that sense, boots over jeans is a trend.

slashed leggings, ripped tights, shredded jeans. fishnets, wed knit tights. and pretty soon i'll be sick of seeing shredded shirts too.

it's a shame cause i really like these trends. but everyone and their mothers are wearing them to the point that i can't stand to see these trends again for at least 2 years.

Bubble hem anything. I hate it. Maybe it's because I love being able to take a dress through a few years, and a bubble hem makes it so obviously dated in a second.

uggs have been around for 20 years or more. they have been "mainstream" for about 5-6 years? are they still a trend?

Uggs are definitely not a trend in Australia they have been around forever and pretty much everyone has a pair or have had a pair.

I know I usually love prada but I cant stand the lace and how everyone is copying it

ripped tights are a way of life for me. i tend to wear brown and tan stockings and can't keep them intact  !
my student budget couldn't accomodate replacements, either. i understand what you're getting at here, though. luckily for me, it's cold enough for black opaques.. or even pants!

People wearing more than one trend in one look ... its screams try-hard :(

I hate the Cory Kennedy/Drugged out Indie Kid/Erin Wasson look. It was cool a year ago, but who can go on looking so sluggish? I don't see how people (outside of the fashion world) can take you seriously.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Image from Vogue.ru The girl on the right. Kudos to her for being so bold at a high fashion event, but to me, this is the Cory/Indie/Erin look at the end of its tether. This was at a party for Russian Vogue, and I don't know how even the fashion world can take you seriously.

OMFG that is awful her hair is so bad and I dont care how fit you are that is awful. I almost like the dress on the left.

The one on the left is a lot better than the one on the right, which is pretty horrific.
I think the middle one would definitely be best, if only we could actually see it.

I will never understand open toed boots. That one just doesn't make sense.

OR big belts over coats...it just reminds me of when gok wan forces dumpy 40 year old women to 'nip in your waist and accentuate your bangers' by wrapping massive platsic red belts around perfectly acceptable black coats and then matching them with bare legs and cheap tacky stilletoes. its 'columbo' meets 'ropey prostitute'.

 I see exactly what you mean...
