uggs - for sure!

That's it. I'm coming out of my closet with my uggs on and taking a stand for them against the tide of ugg hate here on TFS.
I would just like to say, as someone who lives in an extremely cold winter climate, that when it's -27 outside and you don't have the luxury of a car and you need to walk and run to catch the subway or the bus or whatever, fashion does not even enter into the equation. And I realize that uggs are fantastically ugly. Believe me I do. but the fact is that for warmth and comfort and facility of walking in snow and slush and on ice, they can't be beat. So there!
But feel free to throw rocks at people wearing them in warm climates and where you don't need them.

I completely like uggs, I admit it. I don't even think they're ugly or something. I hate the ways girls here are wearing them and most of them wear fake uggs that look just bad! The thing is real uggs are not sold here, you can order them online only, that's why girls wear fake ones.
I would wear uggs if weather here was acceptable for uggs, it's really rainy, humid here and even when it snows - the snow isn't white on the floor, it's dirty and messy. So uggs will wear out after just one wear here.
Anyways I must say that I support ur uggs love ^_^

Tight Tops and Tight Bottoms it just looks skanky blance one or the other but do not wear tight jeans and a tight t shirt

The generic term is UGGs, but these are mostly sheepskin boots. Someone who read a previous comment of mine know that I've slowly begun to dislike sheepskin boots. I'm sure they are comfortable. But they've gotten so old. I've hated jeans/leggings/pants tucked into boots on warm days. I'm pretty sure those trying to be "cute" on this expected warm Saturday (highs expected to be near the 80s here in Houston followed by a drastic drop in temperatures down to a high of the 40s for Sunday afternoon or so) will happily wear something too warm to wear on a warm day while borderlining being a fashion victim. Same goes for a little girl I saw last Saturday wearing Bermuda shorts and Winter boots. Either you're trying to beat the cold or brave for warmth. Make up your mind and dress appropriately for the weather rather than intentionally warm yourself up or get cold! It's not that cold here!

But back to sheepskin boots... comfortable or not, I've gotten tired of these. At least wear proper Winter boots or leather boots than these boring sheepskin boots. You may like them, but I've gotten tired of these sheepskin boots... as have some others who've been intolerant of these boots though I've just joined this party.

bohemian. i think nicole richie has been wearing bohemian style for the past decade. or it just feels like that. i also think it's time to move on from the jeans tucked in uggs.

I'll give you that, missarmenia (on jeans tucked into sheepskin boots). I'm still very uneducated about the Bohemian look to actually say I approve or disapprove of the look. So I can't comment too much on that standpoint.

hahahah so true about jeans , etc tucked in boots in warm weather it looks really silly , thats good only in winter or snowy weather IMO

^ Yet most believe just because it's cold weather season that even on the warmest day, you should dress up as such. Sorry... it doesn't work that way! Looking hot is one thing, but looking hot while being hot (as in sweating) is another. Why chance it? Some will never understand. Especially on a warm day. Shame...

Thios has said before, but I just have to say it again: Tucking your jeans into your boots just looks awful imho. And the most horrible thing is that my 48-year-old mum does that:ninja:.

And I hope that eighties would just go away.

And it's annoying when some kind of sub-culture is just-oh-so-trendy. Couple of years ago everyone was an emo or emoish, right now everyone tries to be so different it's sickening, especially when everyone end up looking the same with their leggins, big shirt, lots of jewelry and messy hair look.

Well Darling Myy, I've attested to the same dislike as in your previous post. I'm disliking the look... as a style, not as function. Think of our folks in Scandinavian countries and stuff who have to trudge through snow and miserable walking conditions. The look is bad when it's too warm or not miserable to walk around in, and OVERKILL when you have big Winter-type boots on a relatively warm day. I can see the function in the look, but when going for style- fail.

hm I don't think that jeans tucked into boots is a trend. it's just another way to wear jeans. it's snowy where I live and tucking jeans in boots is the only option, because otherwise jeans will be wet and dirty, that is more disgusting I think

I'm so over this whole Erin Wasson and Alexander Wang style. I didn't think it would ever cost so much money to look so dirty and poor. At the start is was okay but now it's just an overload.

People have started admitting to not washing their hair for 2 weeks. Ew. Please go shower all you dirty hipsters.

^^That's disgusting. I agree with you risska, I feel like Erin Wasson's style has had it's moment but even then it didn't feel new. It just felt...like the archetypal hipster look.

I'm sick of skinny belts on the waist over every single outfit no matter what, Alice Dellal hair, Uggs/Bearpaws (seriously, there are a million alternatives to these "winter" boots, go buy a pair of normal tall duck boots or even snowshoes please), chipped nail polish, anything to do with Twilight or Stephenie Meyer.

I can understand jeans in boots when it's winter and snowy, but I think everyone does that even when it's not snowy or wet, which I think has been so over-done.

Boot

I agree with the jeans tucked into boots ensemble... its old..same with uggs and then a mini skirt.. WTF

I must say though i am in michigan and have been getting like a foot of snow every other day, i dug out the boots.. but oh well:woot:

Did anyone see "Glamour Magazine's Top 25 Biggest Do's and Don'ts" on the Style Network back on Friday or over the weekend? Number 21 on that list ("DON'T rock ugly shoes across town") only reinforced some of the fashion dislikes. Among them, snow shoes and sheepskin boots were made for snow, NOT for trying to look "cute" at school or at the mall (generalizing). Rain boots and gardening shoes were also mentioned along with flip-flops. Only thing is, I don't hate flip-flops as mercilessly as most other people.

The opinionated Peter Ishkans joked about how sheepskin boots only work on Chewbacca. Perhaps comfortable, perhaps warm, but no style. They're completely dated now. Even jeans into boots as a style are dated no matter how often someone has to come with a counterattack. Not a trend anymore, but still dated as crap. As far as comfortable shoes to wear, finally heard some praise for the ballet slipper among other comfy shoes as worthy alternatives.
