UK Vogue April 2020 : Jodie Comer by Steven Meisel

I still don't get why he is the only photographer able to make gorgeous covers, one after another, it's crazy. Well, Lupita's cover wasn't that good (I didn't like her lipstick there and the clean background), but still it was better than regulars Vogue at that moment. This will have critical acclaim to me, no one will hate it. So unexpected, and I'm glad Edward let Steven to put her on the cover. It's a very odd choise, really rare to see celebs like her in front of fashion magazines (tired of the same female musicians over and over, or hollywood actresses from the 90s). What a stunner she is! I'm agree with @aracic best cover of Meisel for BV. I will remeber this in december if the coronavirus doesn't touch me.

The first photo at #4 is like a classic Francesco Scavullo:heart:

Oh this is absolutely fantastic! Easily one of the best ones of Edward (I can still see the Saffron and Adwoah covers). Jodie is gorgeous and the magazine gave that justice.

I love the colors. The makeup. The hair.

Even the art direction looks better! Everything works. Good job.

Though the editorial still belongs to Steven Meisel’s giant UK Vogue catalogue. One and the same. Beautiful nonetheless.

Her face is so beautiful, the only thing I dislike on this cover is her eyebrows, her make up on Loewe ad was much better, but she still is so gorgeous.

Oh, how didn't I see this coming? Of course she'd get photographed by Meisel for Vogue UK before the release of the new Killing Eve season!

I echo everyone's sentiments here, it's a gorgeous cover. But Jodie is a stunning woman and I think it would be nearly impossible to make her look bad, so there's that.

The newsstands cover is better. Her face is too washed out in the subs cover. The background looks too processed.

PS, I hate subscribers covers for Vogue. There's should only be one cover, and that's it. Having one cover feels like authority - "This is the look, period"

Subs covers should be left to the amateur editions. To me it feels disingenuous and indecisive.

Hahah that sub cover is awful, the tune up of her face is just too much, and besides it looks like Elle or something! Hate when they do different covers, because it's never better anyway!

This better be £2 on the newsstand so I can buy a copy of the decent cover while I wait two weeks for my subscription one to arrive.

I’m drooling. The newsstand cover is one of the best covers I have seen in years and the outfit in the full length shot (well the image as it showcases the clothing) is perfection! Meisel can’t die. Can we clone him? haha. I mean we need some perfectionist artistry until an equal talent comes along. I know some people here loathe him but to each their own.

^ Hugo Comte only copies his late 90s/early 2000s aesthetic. Actually Hugo copies everything and everyone that belongs to that era.
