UK Vogue December 2012 : Natalia Vodianova by Mario Testino

The cover feels more February than December. I don't know whether it's because I think of December covers being festive and warm. Although as I mentioned earlier, I do love the cover shot Natalia and Mario have provided.

The fashion content is a complete letdown. It's just the same crap but for a different month. The amount of things British Vogue could have accomplished for such an issue, is out the window. But there's that new-issue-freshness that I cannot divert from, that I just love at the start of each month.

I love how spooky the editorial looks like. I dont want to bet bored of Walkers aproach so its nice when he changes it up.
I wish it could be longer tho...

Completely agree! It's a bit different from his usual work. I love the styling in those preview shots.

Them snaps from honeycombchild isn't the full editorial by the way, i'll snap the full eds tomorrow when I have better lighting in the day time if no one has done so before hand.

I know but I love those Tim Walker huge eds with big story. I know that 16 pages is a lot but a great Walker editorial gets even better with +20 pages.
Maybe Im asking too much

You can hate all you want but... I actually think the One Direction feature is the one that stands out in this issue!!! I mean come on, they do look good. Magic Patrick.

^From what I've seen so far, I agree with you! One Direction looks really good in those photographs, they certainly know how work it for the camera. Tim's editorial looks rather zany, not sure if I like it. Will wait till I see HQ's to pass judgement on the editorial.

The One Direction editorial is odd, the heads look like they have been stuck on bodies and they have been overly photoshopped.

^ My thoughts exactly! And they got so many pages? Seriously! What a disappointing December issue this is for me!

The One Direction features does not get that many pages in the actual issue. Those single head shots are all on one page, with the exception of Harry who has a page. The naff signatures also aren't on the photos in the issue.

It's not as longer feature as the above posts make it look at all.

I kinda will buy this because of One Direction. Such a same because that`s the only reason I`d buy it... and it`s not the best reason either.

Natalia`s editorial is a complete disaster. Mario is lost in translation. Mario is lost. I don`t get him these days. His work`s such a has-been.

The Tim Walker ed feels the same for me. I feel like I`ve seen this one before on their previous issues and on W Magazine.

It`s such a shame for a December issue to fall flat as this got. I always looked forward to buying their December issues (most artistic issue of the year IMO) but this is just as bad as the rest of this year`s issues.
