Mary J Blige does not allow photographers to photoshop her facial scars away - has always had that policy. It looks like the photographer was trying to work around that by having her pose oddly.

I mean, for me it’s really the whole thing, not really the scar…
The attitude, the styling, the very tense face. Nothing says strong and in control but rather contrived…
She deserved better…Even more considering that June Ambrose is involved.
