US Vogue August 2014 : Blake Lively by Mario Testino

I'm no real Blake fan and I'm baffled as to what Anna'a fascination is, however i actually don't mind the idea of the shoot in general, I like the mood a lot. For me it's the most interesting out of the three covers she's had. And a smile, on the cover. That's quite rare.

Amy's name on the cover is a shame, where was her cover? Or better yet, Julianne! Her name is there but has she ever landed a cover?

Seriously, her? I just don't see the "IT factor" with Blake, despite the fact that she surprisingly has lucrative deals and that still confuses me to this day. She's got hustle sure but nothing special.

Julianne appeared on the cover twice. The last one was in March 2003 though, so it's been a long time.

Blake is not photogenic at all I have to say... I saw her at the Festival de Cannes in May and she was really beautiful, but on the pictures, it's like she's losing something.

It amazes me how little White actresses need to accomplish to land a Vogue cover compared to their Black counterparts. Pretty much every Black actress or singer who's gotten a Vogue cover has had an Oscar nomination, an Oscar win or a Grammy accompanied by global success. That Blake's biggest achievement is a stint on Gossip Girls speaks volumes. I mean she has never gotten any sort of nomination for her acting-- no Emmy, no golden globe, not even a MTV movie award.

The cover and ed aren't that bad (judging by US Vogue's standards) but everything is so cliché, uninspired and lazy (adjectives that describe both US Vogue and Testino perfectly).

I can safely say i never seen anything this woman has been in and i could not point her out in a line up, she has that very bland american look that for me is almost transparent, is she that relevant in the US to get a cover of Vogue?

The editorial is lovely, but honestly, I can't think of an actress less deserving of another Vogue cover than Blake. She has been off the scene for a while. Having a website does not warrant another cover of Vogue.

Mind blown how she is on her third cover (more than Beyonce!!) with virtually no career, or major theatrical releases as of now, but some boring web site grants her appearance on the cover? Haha all one can do is laugh, but its ok, Wintour has the last word. Its just i am really going to resent you giving me Blake Lively on Age issue, when you could have went with Moore or Adams! Not to mention countless other women who have achieved so much, but i digress.

That said, the cover/spread is gorgeous i have to say. She looks beautiful, and this styling suits her, i was just never interested in style over substance, that's all.

Blake's look very beautiful and the editorial is good yet a bit cliché. As much as I like her she doesn't deserve a 3rd Vogue cover yet. Julianne, Jessica or Amy should've got it. They're all getting early buzz for their performances this year. They deserve this cover both for their acting and fashion choices yet they'll only get an article.
