US Vogue February 2020 : Florence Pugh by Daniel Jackson

I'll have jumping Trentini by Sims or McDean EVERY issue of the year over the c-list crap they've come up with in the last few months.

I knew people would come to miss Trentini's jumping eds in the future! Lol
How I wish to see her jumping up and down in front of McDean's lens once again. At least she delivered every time. Now all they do is stand there and look pretty!

Florence Pugh Says She Screamed for 5 Minutes After Seeing Her 'Vogue' Cover (Exclusive)

By Amy Lee‍ 9:04 PM PST, January 12, 2020

Florence Pugh reveals her hilarious reaction to being a Vogue cover girl!

The Little Women actress, who graces the cover of the iconic fashion mag's February issue, tells ET's Keltie Knight at the 2020 Critics' Choice Awards red carpet that she screamed when she saw her face on the glossy.

"Well, I was at home and I screamed for a solid five whole minutes -- and five whole minutes is a long time to scream," Pugh shares. "I mean, it's bizarre. When does that ever happen?"

Pugh went on to explain the unexpectedly relaxed environment during the photo shoot.

"I mean, I thought it was going to be very daunting. Actually, I got there and Daniel Jackson, the photographer, was just really happy with letting me have fun and be me and make all the silly faces and that was so cool."

The British beauty became a breakout star last year, following her performance in the horror flick Midsommar and most recently in the Greta Gerwig-directed adaptation of the classic novel. Next, she will star in Marvel Studios' upcoming blockbuster Black Widow, opposite Scarlett Johansson.

"I'm 24 and it was my birthday and it's 2020 and I'm on the cover of Vogue and so far it's been a great year," Pugh says of her rising career.

Pugh is predicted to nab an Oscar nom for her portrayal of Amy March in Little Women. Nominations will be announced on Monday, and the star isn't expecting much.

"Oh, my gosh, this is too silly now. This is too silly. Just to be here, just to be in this film, just to be around all these amazing people is enough, so whatever happens on Monday -- we'll see," Pugh says of the Oscar buzz.

What are these editorials..

It seems like Vogue Paris is the only one who can save this month!

Wouldnt you scream if you got your very first Vogue cover at such an early point in your career, Dior? LOL. Not for 5 minutes straight, you'd have to be a nutter to do that. But I'm sure you'd scream.
I don't particularly care for her, but that sounded rather cute. And it yet drills the point home that an American Vogue cover still matters. This girl certainly realises how important it is.

^ Aw, i also think it's cute. Actually after reading that article it makes me hate the cover, less! Nice to see getting the Vogue cover means something to some of these celebs! Let's be honest, now that there is so many Vogue editions, it's not what it used to mean, but reading of Florence's joy over it is sweet.

I mean, clearly she didn't scream for five minutes straight. Haven't people heard of hyperbole?

Oh come on, nobody actually thought she did. The references by users was to the fact that she's very much like Jennifer Lawrence was with her rise to stardom, ostentatious to the max.

Also dating Zach Braff, disgusting.

It’s obnoxious. It’s not cute. I’m tired of grown adults acting like emotionally fragile children to be all quirky n’ sh*t.

LIKE OMG! I LITERALLY CAN’T BREATHE! OMG I’M CRYING! LITERALLY FREAKING OUT! I PEED MY PANTS! LITERALLY TEARS COMING OUT OF MY EYES! OMG OMG OMG! LIKE WTF I’M SOBBING RN! GUYS THIS IS CRAZY!

I, with my 8-season boxset of Scrubs, beg to differ! Of course his gritted teeth smiles are more unappealing than Dax Shepard altogether, but he's got a witty personality.
Plus I like that everyone is suddenly talking about him only because he's dating her. How's that for equality?

She just turned 24, scored an Oscar nomination and got the cover of US Vogue within the space of a few days. Is it really so outrageous that she took a moment to scream for joy in the privacy of her own home? And who she's dating is her own business. Can a b!tch live?

^^Did I say she wasn’t allowed to be excited or thrilled?

I said the cutesy, overgrown-child schtick of being kinda awkward, kinda quirky and emotionally immature is not as adorable as I think they’d like it to come off as.

It's true, you didn't say she wasn't allowed to be excited or thrilled. However, you did say she was dumb, obnoxious, and that you hated her. And you implied she was acting like an emotionally fragile child. All because of her hyperbolic claim to having screamed for joy for 5 minutes. Maybe she's not trying to be adorable, maybe she's just being herself. As I said, can a b!tch live?

That easy street edit is weirdly 2006, American Vogue was less pedestrian back then though.

I've seen her in enough press, including her own Instagram videos, to know she's always over-the-top and sort of purposely air-headed, and I don't find it attractive.

Zach Braff is a creep, he always dates women way younger than him, and then he spills all the details to the press. Revolting.

She can live, but this isn't a fan board, so those of us who don't find her enchanting can comment to.

I can totally respect a differing opinion. Aside from 4 film/tv acting performances (which I thought ranged from excellent to incredible) and her Vogue Mukbang video, I don't think I've had any exposure to her through social media or interviews and what have you. Perhaps she is annoying, or a bit air-headed (though relative to the general populous of people her age, I doubt she's worse than average) and I don't mind someone not liking her. However, expressing hatred for her, and calling her dumb and obnoxious based on her excitement about getting a Vogue cover seems extremely harsh and just as those people can express their disdain, I can defend her.

As for Braff, I knew nothing of his dating life and until this thread had no clue he was dating Florence. However, I've just quickly checked my go-to celebrity dating site, whosdatedwho.com, and according to the them, the current ages of Braff's past girlfriends are 32, 35, 41, 43, and 45. Braff is 44. From my perspective, at least, it doesn't seem like he has an issue in that area.

Yikes. I didn’t see this as an issue when Ashley Graham was literally screaming in the Vogue office, or when Lupita was gushing while she unboxes her third Vogue cover.

Maybe it roots from personal dislike over her

^^Nope. Anyone behaving that way is a no for me. It’s not exclusive to Florence, by any means. I have no taste for Ashley or Lupita, either. All three of them are extremely astroturfed, in my opinion.

I think I made it perfectly clear that I dislike the “she kinda quirky doe!” schtick....no matter who it’s coming from.

Jennifer Lawrence pioneered it and I’ve noticed since her heyday, a lot of actors and influencers now behave that way, particularly females...and especially when they’re on a Late Night Show...oh, God, I can’t stand the way they behave on Late Night...it’s so immature it drives me crazy.

I'm Switzerland in this debate. Yes, completely agree that the cute but quirky girl-child schtick is annoying in general especially from Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita, but I also agree that in Florence's case we should 'let her live', lol.
