US Vogue October 2024 : Lady Gaga by Ethan James Green

the absolute daftness of it all to call something ‘Supernova’ while making the subject super old.

what’s wrong with people?

I feel that they should have added one more fashion ed to rounded up this issue, because it feels unfinished. And they should add more content pages, I mean they are already doing this whole global sharing content strategy so I guess adding a few more pages wouldn't cost them a lot of money lol. 76 pages of contents in a 166 pages magazine is just not it. At least at another 10 pages of contents...

I was going to agree with you, but then remembered she's promoting A Star is Born on Broadway?? Where she's playing Norma Desmond, so making the subject look old and washed up, actually, makes sense.

Yes, they should have reprinted the "Joie De Vivre" fashion story with model Ceretti by Pennetta in the back pages.

it's not the best but at least lately we're getting back photographers who are real photographers, Steven, Mert Marcus, Inez, Mikeal, Annie Norman... maybe next time we'll see Steven Klein, Craig Mcdean David Sims etc!!! after hitting rock bottom... there's only the way up!!!

Did anyone read the Gaga article? I just skimmed it but I must say what I did focus on came off a bit harsh. Like the reporter was a bit demeaning. He mentions Gaga being dismissive when she wishes for an interview to be over. He refers to moments from her past (like years and years ago) that aren’t too flattering and I’m struggling to see the relevance to her current promotions and projects. The reporter even mentions that he brought up the subject of her exes and even recalls a previous boyfriend making fun of Gaga in a “cruel” manner. Like what’s the point of that? I just got the impression the reporter Jonathan Van Meter was not a fan and I wonder why he was chosen.

a good interview is meant to be probing and an interrogation

not some mindless fawning
