US Vogue Winter 2024 : Sienna Miller by Annie Leibovitz

like her or dislike her, Sienna at least had an actual influence on fashion in her younger days and this is Vogue, she makes more of a credible 'fashion' figure than most of the people Anna chooses to put on the cover in most years. Also a good actress, albeit one who's mostly stuck playing 'the wife or girlfriend' in whatever roles she does get (very good in her Netflix series where she's playing the posh blonde Tory wife).

I don't mind the cover shot, but Annie is back to making the editorial overprocessed again?

and yeah, for all the 'down with Anna' conversation, whoever comes after her is going to be just a placeholder who will cater to the lowest common denominator as all the foreign Vogue editions are expected to now.
Sienna’s “influence on fashion” was just being influenced by Kate Moss. Hence why Kate remains a definitive style icon to this day while most people are like Sienna who? Even her other claim to fame (Jude) is pretty irrelevant these days.

According to vogue.com, the Karolina Spakowski beachside fashion editorial by Lechlan Bailey also appears in this issue. Based on the amount of images posted, it looks like it is condensed/edited. I won't be surprised if it ends up in the back of the magazine.

We will also never see another visionary editor like Sozzani or Tilberis at the head of the Vogue brand because that's not what sells.
So true, and my god how depressing that is. Sophistication, elegance, elevated style...you'd think these ideas would never go out of fashion. But I have a theory, which is that I don't think people actually WANT what is being served by fashion media these days. It's just that it is what editors think the public wants, since they are catering to a small slice of the tacky, ignorant social media mob (which obviously has no taste) -- because they are the loudest. So the influence of this small corner of the internet has a disproportionate influence on what gets published. But... I dunno, just a theory!

That's a long time to wait for something that people have already seen (and forgotten about) on social media.

It makes more sense for the cover shot to appear in January - new starts and all that - but when its debut was the wrong side of Christmas, any forthcoming issue already feels like old news.

I’m constantly baffled by the digital strategy of these magazines, but then again I’m still coming at it from a print-first point of view, so I’m bound to be aren’t I?

I’m considering subscribing to US Vogue this year (if I can find a good deal). I’m in two minds about it though; on the one hand I don’t want my money to condone the horrible content sharing strategy, but then I’ve also really enjoyed reading the few issues of US Vogue I got my hands on in 2023. And (although I don’t really know why) I often prefer the shared editorials on US Vogue’s pages compared to the British edition.

I’m dreading the future of UK Vogue, but I’ll give them a fair shot for a few months before I decide whether to unsubscribe. However, I’m feeling like if I prefer US Vogue’s overall offering and it’s some of the same content anyway, maybe it’s time to switch.

They are ~digital first~ now.. so that's why they posted the print content way ahead from their print issue now.. since they are basically give the print issue for free if you subscribe to Vogue.com .

If we're lucky.. we'll get something like Vogue Italia or Vogue Spain.. if not, we'll get another Vogue France lol.. but I guess It won't be stronger than Edward's Vogue.. at least Edward still have cachet to have Meisel (and other big name photographers) shot his covers once in a while. But on the other hand.. now that Edward is gone, I feel that US Vogue is going to be stronger.. since now everything is under Anna. I feel sometimes the shared content from the UK Vogue team under Edward is too edgy when reprinted on US Vogue. (for example the Mert and Marcus shared ed from Vogue August 2022 issue...).

It's being reported she's just given birth, which makes the cover story feel even more redundant.

They released the cover story online super early to try and mitigate the silliness of releasing a pregnancy cover post-birth. But the timeline for print release follows last year’s winter issue, with Florence Pugh, which hit newsstands in the second half of January.

To me, the easiest way to think about it is that recently, December issues are actually Dec/Jan issues and Winter issues are actually February issues.

Pregnant women on fashion mags annoy me SO much... there´s never any focus on fashion.

Casa Magazines already have the issue on sale if anyone is interested

I will never understand the Sienna Miller phenomenon. She doesn't even have any significant role in either the movie or the series.
Me either. Anna was really pushing her to be the next Nicole Kidman but doesn’t seem to work

I realized that in the last issues of US Vogue the masthead page is…gone. Does anyone know why? (A few pages, of course, the magazine is more thin every month) Or where we can find the recent 2024 masthead?
