How did Valentino go from Daria, Hilary and Gemma to Tati, Jac and Freja? There is no correlation in this decision whatsoever.

It's simple; those girls aren't representative of the current modeling trend, and frankly they're not representative of the clothes that these designers are putting out there either.

And not for anything but I remember Gemma getting a load of flack for one of her Valentino campaigns because she wasn't Valentino enough, or whatever.

^Well, beauty is subjective isn't it? And I don't necessarily think campaigns are (nor should be) about casting the most beautiful face. Beauty can be boring. These days it's more about presence as designers try to figure out how to sell their clothes and their brand image. And presence is one thing I think all three models have.

I really don´t like this tragic vibe..it has nothing in common with the image they try to show on the runways, imo...however i´m looking forward to see monika´s shots

I don't like the first two photos - well perhaps the nude one if it were part of an ed, but the second one is awful - slumpy pose, straggly hair, miserable expression . I read the WWD blurb and am intrigued, so I would be interested to see if the concept is pulled off better in the other campaign photos.

Since they changed photographers, I wish they would have chosen who turned the lights on.

I think she is very pretty, in her own way, but she's very edgy. Valentino is no longer the romantic, glamorous, elegant brand it used to be, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Valentino, now, is edgy and more youthful and Freja definately embodies this.

I love mood and tone of this campaign as the collection was quite cute and femenine, love the twist they turned to black and white and set the mood that really draw in.

Let me rephrase that: Freja's face is not appealing. Most people would find her unattractive, which is why she only does high fashion... I don't think she fits this brand.

umm...I'm on the fence with Tati's shot. I find myself liking the photography, something that I would like to see from a fall/winter campaign but the model herself...I'm do not dislike her, I simply don't get her appeal (although I find her adorable at times ) so I can't fully appreciate this.
I'll just wait for Freja's and Monika's shots to surface to finally mold my opinion
even though Im not looking forward to seeing nude Monika...thank god it will be done in a subtle manner.
