Velour ?

Why am I seeing so much velour lately?

I thought it came and went in the 70's. Even then it was a source of ridicule in some cases [remember velour leisure suits? ]

I think she is talking about velvet. Coz in the 70's....velvet suits were v. big....like Velvet Goldmine costumes, glam rock type thing.

In which case, I'm all for velvet....especially velvet dresses...so rich and sumptuous. Velvet shoes are also lovely...great for adding a touch of velvet.

I like velvet shoes, but I don't like when there's too much velvet, like velvet pants. Although I saw a very pretty velvet skirt not long ago.

Anyway, as others have said, I'm not seeing much velour, at all.

velvet is best in short bursts. a little here, a little there. not head to toe...

If it's velvet and not velour, then I think I'm all for it, though I would stash my velvet away for summer, given how it's such a sumptuous fabric.

Velour? I seriously have not seen anything wear it for a long time..except maybe as lounge-pants for at-home wear.

But I love velvet in little touches in an outfit...maybe a pair of flats, or just a bag..the texture of the fabric itself adds interest to an outfit

^ There is a difference... I believe one of the two has a more rough surface, or something. Not quite sure actually

Velour = knit, velvet = woven fabric. Both can be very, very fine or coarse depending on material and quality used.
