Veronica Mars

Maybe now the healing can begin...

The CW has officially pulled the plug on Veronica Mars. Series creator Rob Thomas confirmed the news for me via e-mail just moments ago.

"I'm afraid I have to report that Veronica Mars is officially dead," he wrote. "At least in TV show form. There's really no way that it can happen now. I'm not sure the CW should've given the glimmer of hope. I think Dawn Ostroff genuinely would have liked to have continued on with a version of the show, but there was too much resistance around her. At the end of the day, it would've been kinder had the band aid simply been ripped off rather peeled away in than this agonizingly slow manner."

Ironically, the news comes just as Veronica Mars fans — inspired by Jericho's 11th hour resurrection — are in the midst of bombarding The CW with thousands of Mars candy bars in advance of that June 15 deadline.

Veronica Mars

The Veronica Mars - The Complete 3rd Season listing at TLA Video shows an October 23rd release date for the 6-DVD set. There's also a listing at Columbia House. We checked with Warner, who says the October date is correct and it should be officially announced shortly.

Because that announcement isn't formal yet, Warner would not confirm so far the other information at TLA Video's listing. But we'll pass on that it shows a $59.99 SRP, with English Dolby Digital 5.1 and subtitles in French and Spanish, plus closed captioning. The 20 episodes will run 900 minutes, plus there will be Deleted Scenes, Audio commentary with creator Rob Thomas, a “Making of” featurette for the CW pitch presentation with Veronica in the FBI, and a Gag Reel.

I have to say that after seeing Tuesday's repeat ep-which I had never seen before-I am more pissed than ever that the CW murdered this show in cold blood. I want to know what happened to those characters, damnit! I think the thing that killed the show was the sh*tty 2nd season. I couldn't fiigure out what was going on.

Thank god they are going to do comics!

Just saw the last episode and I'm so sad.
Why did it have to end this way, why?!

Down with CW

^first of all love your avatar :) . Cant wait to see that spread in Bazaar

and ya the CW is a stupid network. They picked up all of these other shows for the fall season and they look ridiculous! VM has a good following, they should have just renewed it

Thanks ^_^

Yes, the new fall line-up is lousy.
And it's so sad that Kristen has to narrate Gossip Girl after they cancelled her show, what a slap in the face.

VM was the only show that had ANY relevancy or critical acclaim on their network. They're extremely stupid.

Actually, Kristen just wrapped the new Judd Apatow comedy and that is a big deal-Judd has done 450 Year old Virgin and Knocked up.
Kristen has the perfect voice for narration

The UK is finally showing season 3 !!! TV needed a new Buffy and Veronica was her makes me angry that shows like the OC were allowed to peddle weak storylines and dragged out characters but Veronica Mars gets cancelled grr.

i know! well i am glad they are showing the third season over there now

I've just watched nineteenth episode of season three.I can't believe there is only one episode left :( I was so addicted to VM

There is a group on facebook that always makes me laugh "I wish I was as persnickty as veronica mars maybe even persnicktier"

Spelling mistakes are in there somewhere I'm sure , sorry.

I'm watching the 19th episode of season two right now. I'm seriously addicted to this - I have been watching non-stop for two 1/2 days.

They are! They discontinued the show on German tv and now I'm dependent on internet tv (which is even better :D).
