Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2025

My thoughts! :
  1. The first segment made the whole show for me!
  2. The performances were really boring, poor choice of acts, especially since they were completely separate from the models.
  3. Jasmine was stunning!!!!!!
  4. I absolutely loved Angelina! I enjoyed watching her so much.
  5. Bella’s closing was kind of weak.. I wish Candice or Doutzen had closed instead.
  6. Awar was amazing as always, and Anok was mesmerizing.
  7. Barbie Ferreira deserves better.
  8. Pink was cute, but I expected something more fun and upbeat.
  9. I enjoyed the dresses, less so the pants.
  10. I guess Gigi was the only one with her hair up so it wouldn’t get caught in the wings (?) — either way, it was weird that she was the only one.
  11. The casting was noticeably weaker than in the previous show, but overall, this show was better in general!!

*I wish Josephine, Taylor, Romee and Elsa were part of it too..

Ngl watching it again this feels like models trying to do their best but the it doesn’t give OG VS😭. So awkward this show is really dead but I guess it generates money for them.
Bella did really try to give Gisele for VSFS 2006.
Dead how Amelia’s gray backside had more screentime than her face.

I really like Karol G's performance. The songs were sexy and fit the segment. And Yasmin walking to the beat of the song is cherry on top.

This walk was literally perfect. And her turning to the rhythm of the song in total sync was just to die for. So good, I rewatched these seconds a lot of times haha

This is a pretty reliable fanpage in the Bella Hadid community….

If the wings actually were that heavy, then it completely checks out that she was constantly looking down & physically needing to inhale to catch her breath at several points. She came out looking like a glory-days glamazon in the red outfit, and then completely powered down in this one.

She should’ve had a lot more time to practice/prepare for this moment. Even in its heyday, it was really only Heidi or Tyra (or Adriana down the line… or Alessandra in 2011) that they felt comfortable giving the heaviest wings to.

Overall, I really enjoyed the show. Jasmine completely deserved her opening, especially after how she's been constantly done dirty by the VS team. I loved seeing all the OG angels, but I feel like now that they have the public opinion more so in their favor, they should start to cast new faces of the brand.

Despite not being objectively the most "fierce" or even the most beautiful, it's obvious what those casting directors saw in her 25 years ago. The personality is genuine and she's an absolute pleasure to be around!

Agree! Did anyone see Alessandra just vibing and having a good time at the end of the show when all the models were out? She's precious.

I think i watched another version of VSFS2025 with different camera angles. I think it was the Prime version.

We see Yasmin's iconic walk and final walk in its entirety

still can't believe that Jasmine opened the show. Last year she has just one outfit with 1 second screentime, this year she opens with big mediatique now. Everyone talk about her. I'm happy for her. I hope she continue to work with them later

For more of Adam Selman's thoughts, and some of Mel Ottenberg's (author's) thoughts. Interview Magazine:
“It’s the Power of the Wings”: Inside Adam Selman’s Victoria’s Secret Debut

The livestream link got updated to the Amazon Prime cut - you can fully see all models walking now, the entire Karol G segment got cuts changed/swapped out (and the wardrobe malfunctions got edited out, too)... and I firmly stand on my opinions now more than ever.

I also can't imagine overexerting yourself so much physically for the show only to show up at your fitting and learn you'll be covered up in your outfit(s).

Also, with this Daiane Sodre extended cut.... I must say she worked the hell out of her (solo) outfit. Another standout "newcomer" (she's been around forever so it feels almost wrong to call her one, but in this case, it applies), for sure.

You might have already read / seen the above Interview Magazine article and this W Magazine interview, but if not, it is here now. My takeaways, in no particular order:

1) For better or worse / your mileage may vary, etc, influencers are here to stay
2) Maybe this is the PR spin / influence on me, but there's always going to be a tension / balance / tradeoff between previous shows and a new show, mainly in terms of the lineup.
3) Relatedly, I am cautiously optimistic about some consistency between the runway walkers and "Contract models / Angels", in that at least Adut and Irina are in the VS Christmas campaign.

^ Yes! I want some consistency from show to show, or from show to catalog / catalog to show. And even more yes, I/we want Anthi and Vittoria back.

My thoughts:

1. This year's show was much better than last year's, but there are still some mistakes that can be improved.

1.1 The first mistake is repeating the same segment theme from a previous show. At VSFS 2024, the last segment was entirely red, as was Karol G's segment. Furthermore, an all-black or black-and-white segment hasn't been new for years. Flamenco Frills (2002), Sexy Shadow Dreams (2005), Black Tie Holiday (2008), Dangerous (2008), Angel Ball (2014), Dark Angels (2016), Downtown Angels (2018). I'm not saying it's not cool, but coupled with another all-red segment, it became very predictable and uncreative;

1.2 I thought it was positive that they didn't reuse wings or make new wings in different colors, as happened at VSFS 2024. However, some ideas this year were clearly taken from previous shows, and it's still almost a copy. Jasmine Tookes' wings are almost identical to Miranda Kerr's in Aquatic Angels (2011), Alessandra Ambrósio's first wings are almost identical to Behati Prinsloo's in Gilded Angels (2014), Behati Prinsloo's wings are almost identical to Sui He's in Goddesses (2017), Emily Ratajkowski's wings are almost identical to Behati Prinsloo's in Angels in Bloom (2012). Anyway, the examples were to show that they can do better than this, especially if the brand's idea is to start over.

1.3 Bringing back the PINK segment is positive for me, as many of Victoria's Secret's most iconic models started out in the PINK line, such as Candice Swanepoel, Miranda Kerr, Lindsay Ellingson, Grace Elizabeth, Behati Prinsloo, and many others. However, I felt this PINK year's theme lacked coherence. It just seemed like random, unrelated outfits. Ultimately, it's great to include new models in the PINK line, but it's definitely not cool, in my opinion, to have celebrities who aren't models walk the runway. I'm Brazilian and I loved the fact a newcomer from my country was in the show, but there are a lot of great Brazilian models so they don't need to include an influencer.

1.4 I missed more cohesion in the selection of models to open and close segments. Once again, Bella Hadid closed the show and this year also opened another segment, Candice Swanepoel closed one segment and opened another. An athlete closed a segment. Last year, the mistake was repeated when they chose Vittoria Ceretti to open one segment and close another, especially since she was new to the brand. There are many models in this new era of the brand who work hard and deserve more recognition in the show.

1.5 The newcomers models, in particular, weren't great. Last year, I didn't know most of the cast, but I was pleased with their performances. However, in this year's show, few really stood out. I especially loved Emily Ratajkowski, Amelia Gray, Precious Lee, Daiane Sodré, and Adut Akech.

1.6 I missed some specific models who were present in the brand's new era, such as Valentina Sampaio, Mayowa Nicholas and Anthi Fakidari. All of them just wore one outfit in the previous show and I was expecting to see them this year with two looks. Finally, Valentina is a trans model, and Mayowa is a black model. Their presence would be important to bring more diversity to the runway.

2. On the other hand, I see a lot of successes this year.

2.1 The model chosen to open the show was a great choice. Unfortunately, she was the second black model to open a VS show in almost 30 years. This is a disgrace. The brand had Tyra Banks, Selita Ebanks, Lais Ribeiro, among many other Black models who could have been angels. However, Jasmine was also better than Gigi in VSFS 2024. Her performance was beautiful and she was confident.

2.2 The performances and song selections were wonderful. Madison Beer perfectly fit the brand, Karol G created a Latin vibe and sensuality that's totally Victoria's Secret, and TWICE matched the youthfulness of the PINK line. Finally, Missy Eliot brought energy to the show with a Super Bowl-worthy performance. Finally, I always enjoy VS's remixes, and they did a great job with the remix segments, especially the last one.

2.3 A big number of models got two outfits this year, especially the more memorable ones. I prefer a smaller casting with models getting more than one look than a huge casting with less models getting two outfits.

2.4 The scenes created during the segment transitions were impeccable and reminded me of the shows of the early 2000s. I hope they continue with this idea and bring even more scenes of interactions between the models, such as interviews, their moments at fittings, among others.

2.5 The models had more screen time because there were fewer models on the runway at the same time. Last year, this was a problem, especially in Tyla's segment.

2.6 The collection overall was much more beautiful and well-crafted. There were no duplicate wings or large numbers of recycled wings. Finally, the costumes didn't look cheap and flimsy like those at VSFS 2024.

My opinions on specific models:

Liu Wen: I've always liked Liu Wen in VS, although for me, between her, Ming Xi, and Sui He, she's perhaps the one who least resembles an angel vibe. She's usually smiley and cute, and she doesn't fit into segments like Hot Pursuit, so I wouldn't put her in that segment, but rather in Bombshell, mainly in the first two songs.

Lily Aldridge: Lily was a pleasant surprise for me. She received two outfits that perfectly suited her, and in the first segment, she looked like a goddess. The catwalk was the same as always, but she exuded confidence and beauty.

Behati Prinsloo: Since 2018, Behati has developed a more serious personality on the VS runway. For me, VSFS 2025 was her sexiest show. Plus, giving her two covers was a great move, and she knew how to bring both outfits to life. She was one of my favorites from the show, and I'm glad she got two outfits this year.

Angelina Kendall: For me, Angelina was a mix of: "I loved her personality, she's energetic and very charismatic" and "My God, what is she doing?" I don't know if I'm that into models singing songs on the runway; it's usually a bit embarrassing for me, but she's certainly a model the brand adores.

Awar Odhiang: She should have closed Magic Hour. This woman brings light and color with her. She's simply fantastic, and I'm so glad she received two outfits this year. I hope the brand recognizes her in future shows.

Stella Maxwell: Bad outfit, bad pose, bad catwalk, she didn't change since 2018, absolutely everything is equal.

Amelia Gray, Yasmin Wijnaldum, Daiane Sodré, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls, Alex Consani, Imaan Hammam: All of these girls are true bombshell girls. Amelia was simply amazing and she got two simple outfits, but she knew how to work with them. Yasmin is always an event and she needs better outfits. In 2018 she got two terrible outfits and in 2025 two very simple looks. Daiane Sodré is my Brazilian proud, i'm glad she got two outfits and she was perfect. The same with Irina, she is always wonderful and I really liked her both looks, but she needs wings. Joan is so fierce and she closed a section again, that's insane, she deserves it, a true bombshell. Alex needs to open or close a section, she is perfect to VS. I feel that Imaan really have fun in VS and she wore amazing looks.

Anok Yai: She walked the runway in the right segments, her hair was gorgeous, the clothes were beautiful, and she closed her first segment masterfully. Perhaps a little more charisma would have been nice, but it's clear she loves walking for the brand, and Alton Mason was watching her, and he was certainly proud.

Neelam Kaur Gill, Sherry Shi: Neelam was completely dead on the runway and had no charisma. What happened? Sherry didn't win me over. I could tell she was trying to be sensual, but something just didn't sit right with me, maybe it didn't fit the vibe of the segment.

and maybe Daphne Groeneveld too since she recently shot for VS

I was really hoping for Maggie Rawlins from the catalog to walk, and Scarlett Leithold and Shannon Zhao from PINK to walk. Daphne would also be great! We all have our personal wish list, and I guess it's part of the "fun" in guessing the lineup for the next year.
