Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2018

Wow it really does show in here, too, how ppl get less and less interested in this show every year. I've been member since '08 and active visitor long before I got my membership, and VSFS show thread used to get so long so fast when the first pictures landed.

Got to admit, I have not even watched the whole show in years, but I am still used to follow the outfit pics and especially the conversation here. Well, I do not even wonder, the show is self-repetive and clearly aimed to younger audience these days. All of us over 30 yo seem to miss the old days but they won't be back, and they even can't. Times change.

I am quite sure that if they hire more mature models for the show then their viewership would expand and women would feel much more welcome to their stores, because right now they feel like they are too old for it cause the models look too young. And they could keep the younger models for PINK!

After watching this show, it made me realize a few things about certain 'angels':
1) Stella Maxwell is a stunning girl but that walk of hers is cringe-worthy and her presence is greatly lacking. She needs to work on everything tbh.
2) Similar to Stella, Taylor is beautiful but needs to work on being comfortable on the runway (which is odd, since she's been walking on international runways since 2012 I believe.) Also her walk needs more oomph.
3) The other angels seem okay at the moment; Jasmine actually looked stunning in the show and Elsa/Sara/Jospehine/Romee all looked great. I feel like there are too many angels atm though, so I wish they would drop a couple.
4) VS should drop Martha H and Devon W because they only bring blandness to the show.
5) Lastly, VS needs to continue using models like Yasmin W, Georgia F, Mayowa N...gorgeous girls with natural sexiness.

Definitely agree. But I also wonder whether it's got to do with the new TFS website too. I notice ever since they introduced their new website a few months back all the threads seem to have died down significantly more than before.

IMO there are multiple factors that contributed to the thread being less active than usual... two of which were already mentioned: the new layout decreasing engagement and overall disinterest in VS. That and the thread was started later than usual due to us barely getting ANY information about the show until a week or so before the taping date, Bellazon getting 100x more engagement on their VS threads than tFS, and overall ratings for VS plummeting. Obviously, there's been quite the discussion on inclusivity this year as well

Other than a$$-kissing Ming Xi, and Duckie Thot/Frida Aasen who didnt get the memo that this was a sort of playful interview, the rest sound cute. Although, a big NO to Adriana Lima's bf, and little Kevin Hart. Nobody wants to look at that.

We caught up with the models backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to find out which men they would love to have walk the VS runway alongside them next year.

1. Devon Windsor
“Brad Pitt. I don’t know that many male models. The only one I can think of is Jordan Barrett who would probably be good.”

2. Grace Elizabeth
“Ryan Gosling. He’s always been my celebrity crush and always will be!”

3. Candice Swanepoel
“Someone in my family, like my brother to my dad, so they could feel what it’s like.”

4. Sofie Rovenstine
“Okay well I’m not gonna lie to you, I think it’d be Shawn Mendes and he’s actually gonna be out there, and I was losing it when I found out he was gonna be performing so, he’s been my celebrity crush for a long time but yeah, lowkey really excited about that one.”

5. Aiden Curtiss
“I’d wanna see the Martinez brothers, who are DJs. One of them could just DJ if it’s just one man. And I’d like to see them be an act on the stage cause they play techno.”

Yes she's too animated, too over-the-top. It's not even funny anymore and I can't find her sexy. Her walk is dislocated, it's painful to watch.

I agree with both of you, Mrs.T. and Billiejbob, I thought both of those factors when writing my text.

I really wish they would use more mature models, there are so many gorgeous ones I don't even start to list them. When most of the models are like 10-15 years younger than myself I do not find much to relate to. But also, I think the "same show" has been seen so many times already, it can not have so much suprises anymore for us who have been watching it from early '00 and before. I guess it has something to do with my own maturing too that shows from like 2003-2007 are the best for me and they have the certain nostalgy factor for me.

And I have also noticed all the threads have slowed down, maybe it has something to do with the new layout or maybe tFS simply has to compete with all the social media channels etc which did not even excist when I started to follow the Fashion Spot. As someone just said, there is vivid conversation about the show, just not here. Maybe it gets more lively here too when the show actually airs

OMFG Taylor, what was that opening? That had to be the most boring opening I've ever seen in the history of the show.

VS should've thought harder when choosing Taylor to open. Yeah, she's got the biggest platform out of the New Angels and is undoubtedly stunning, but she can't pull it off. I would've even preferred Behati over her, you know, given it's her comeback and they usually give the model mothers something special when they come back But alas, all she got was a segment closing. The Behati fans were FUMING when it was announced the FB went to Elsa.

The most ideal choice for me would be Jasmine. She had never opened a segment before this year, and she could easily pull it off without being called overrated *ahem* Josephine or given too many show privileges *ahem* Elsa.

Given the major press Versace got for having the 90s models walking and even Valentino with Kristen, it would be a victory for them in every way if they went further back and booked Stephanie Seymour, Naomi, Tyra or even Laeticia Casta... But to do that would mean to cut down on a lot of excess, as I don't see any of them walking around in pink underwear like a pubescent. They would need to at least create a new line that connected more with a mature modern woman.

They also need Alex DeBetak to do the casting, styling, and producing if they ever want to get any kind of prestige back. Every single VSFS will always be compared to 2005 in which he helped produced. It's telling how girls like Karolina K, Gisele, Natasha P, Adriana, Caroline W, Alessandra, Isabeli etc were all between 19 and 24 yet KILLED it on the runway with their struts and subtle sexiness whereas today the angels and other models are the same age but walk as if it's the first time on the runway doing kisses and awkward aggressive poses or over the top interactions with the audience. LESS IS MORE!

Maybe the idea of angels should be gotten rid of and the VSFS should be every four years like with the olympics but rather than do castings instead they invite the top of the top models (ie icons and models of the moments) to participate. All that money they save on not doing a show every year they can put towards paying REAL icons and budget for a show that is extraordinary rather than the SAME. THING. EVERY. YEAR.

Favorite Angels: Adriana , Candice, Elsa, Romee, Jasmine. Lais got the best outfits IMO.
Favorite Veterans: Leomie's performance in Mary K made the whole segment for me. And Ming worked her outfits beautifully even though her Downtown Angels outfit looked like something out of PINK. Grace Bol's outfit was STUNNING on her.
Favorite Newbies: SUBAH KOJ. She absolutely killed it. Not very many VS fans knew about her before the show even though she's a big new face in HF... and OBVIOUSLY Yasmin and Mayowa, who both deserved better outfits than the monstrosity that are those dresses.
Favorite comeback: Barbara Palvin 10000000%. Poor Shanina and Toni were just filler models this year. I mean, ONE outfit?
Time to leave: Taylor, Stella, and dare I say Martha and Behati? All easily replaceable in my opinion. Also, please, can Alexina be the new Vita Sidorkina? Take Lameka with her.

Eh? Lameka is so gorgeous and almost too perfect, that bone structure. Love almost all of her editorial work.

I can't play along sadly because to do that I would need to be able to tolerate the bread and butter VS models (Adriana, Candice, Jasmine, Elsa, Gisele etc), which I cannot. But keen to see the other answers.
