i would say it's similar to seeing your favourite celebrities performing at awards shows or something like that... it's not necessarily where they broadcast their art in the best way, because usually it's lipsynching or something of the sort. just sometimes it's fun to see your favourite girls out there all dolled up and looking as gorgeous as possible in crazy, colourful designs. because high fashion is sometimes definitely not like that.
and it's great too because it's such a big deal, you can discuss it with all your friends, even if they don't know really which model is which
