Vogue Italia April 2009 : Eliza Cummings by Steven Meisel

Eniko is always stunning but the conception is already boring...
(what will waiting for us? omg...)

Iris&Heidi:
There is a bigger potencial in these models.
They body-language: there's an ocean between them...
Don't feel each other. Iris looks scared and Heidi looks sleepy...
So give her a bed but not VI ed, please...

Diciassette, you made a better work than Roversi. Thanks.

OMG, Meisel ed is called "how to make the top outfits look like **** from the last secound-hand on the earth" and girls suit that concept great... i haven`t seen such trash longtime...

Are they shopping at the Salvation Army:lol: (Fashion Bailout ed i mean.)I love it!

Roversi's ed is beautiful, I love the mood. Heidi and Iris look great too, I like how Heidi is on a roll lately and keeps delivering!

Eniko's ed looks interesting, I like the lighting.

:rofl: I'm not really impressed by it either.

the most interesting thing what whatever Meisel has done (good, bad, joke, derision etc) everyone will call him "genius" and will wet one's pants from hapiness. that fact is always astonish me...

Huge step forward for Eliza compared to her trashy i-D cover with Ash! I especially like this cover, not only because she looks quite softer the usual but also because this reminds of the mid 90's Vogue Italia editorials..especially the ones with Tasha Tilberg..good times ^_^ Looking forward to see the editorial following the cover!
So far i'm really loving the ed with Eniko, even though we've already seen this concept billion times..the one with Iris and Heidi could have been so much better if Heidi looked less numb and Iris more into the concept..the lights are magnetic though! As for Portia, in the preview posted she looks high..
Looking forward to the Anja ed! ^_^

I'm afraid I'm not one of those people......he has made some glaring mistakes in the past and this is one of them.
Over the course of his career working for V.I. he has done astonishing work for them I have to add.B)

Perhaps I'm alone but in an editorial called 'Fashion Bailout' doesn't it make sense that the theme is very Salvation Army and Goodwill? This might not be what people are looking for but it makes perfect sense to me. He's commenting on the recession and I think the styling and the choice of girls is very on point. This isn't some escapist high glamour editorial, this is a bunch of girls darning their clothes and sifting through the racks to make outfits. It's very grunge to me. Totally mid 90s New York...

But that's just me. Quite frankly I'm in the mood for this and it suits me just fine.

Seems like there is another model?

ETA: Is that Anastasia Khozzisova?

I really like Darya's pictures but the editorial really doesn't excite me. To be honest Meisel's latest stuff hasn't really excited me.

It is indeed perfect for now.
Who is the girl in the second pic?

Maybe it's because this is most closely atune to my own personal sense of style (that kind of homeless-chic look), but I appreciate that it's not an escapist editorial as Luxx so poignantly pointed out. There's something about this that just feels honest in its portrayal.

I'm going to second the notion that I'm definitely in the mood for something like this right about now. :flower:

I totally get what Meisel was aiming at here and I'm sure he achieved it, but it is too drab and boring for me.

As Luxx said it is very grungy and definitely has a 90's feel, and Meisel was the master at showing this style in a way no other photographer did.....therefore not really a stretch for him.

I quite like the main editorial... Not fond of the models selection (although one of the girls looks interesting!) but I like the styling and setting!
