I like the close-up and pose but hate the gloves, it looks amateur and catwoman-like. Meisel should have decided on either a black and white shot or a full on color because having both displayed like this makes it look cheap
Vogue Italia covers just don't excite me that much anymore lately. This is certainly a very nice and elegant cover but there's nothing that makes me want to look at it over again. Forgettable face, boring execution of an interesting concept. Even if this one is meant to be pictorial and static I still wish there would be a tad bit of emotion or attitude coming from a Vogue Italia cover. Out of the covers of the past few months Karlie's was the only one that achieved that. I'm not usually one to say Meisel has run out of ideas or has lost his edge (and I don't actually think that anyway) but I cannot help but feel that in recent months everything else in the magazine was more exciting than Meisel's covers or main editorials.
